2017-18 Legislation

Florida Sex Offender Laws

Here we go, its September, we’re getting ready to start a new round of “Committee Weeks” in Tallahassee. https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Calendar/2018/Interim_Meeting_Schedule_2017-06-26_135708.PDF The timing of these changes each year depending on the election cycle here in Florida. So, what does this mean? It means our legislators convene in Tallahassee to begin discussing priorities and submitting bills for the legislative body to vote on. During committee weeks is when the legislators present their bills to the assigned committees and hope to gain support to vote them through so eventually they can get to the house and senate floors for all to vote upon in hopes of passage. This is the beginning of the most stressful times for u all as we never know what new and innovative crazy scheme they will come up with to further control, punish and ostracize our population. What I am encouraging all of you to do is mobilize!

http://www.flsenate.gov/Senators/Find, http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/Representatives/representatives.aspx.Write letters and make phone calls to “Your” legislators in both the House and the Senate advising them you want policies based on facts and empirical evidence. Advise them enough is enough, it has become very clear your tax dollars are being spent frivolously on feel good policy which do not keep our citizens safe, which do not support safe reentry for those returning to the community after paying their debt to society and most importantly do nothing for real prevention of new offenses. Make it perfectly clear you are expecting them to provide leadership in their respective branch of government instead of promoting the sheep mentality of going along because they have no political courage, because you will remember when it comes time to vote along with your circle of influence who support the same beliefs you do. As I look forward to this next legislative cycle, I expect to hear from legislators how many folks they have heard from asking for evidence based policies. Be a part of the movement, use your voice and make it loud, encouraging everyone you know to also send a letter or make a phone call or send an email. If you take the time to use your voice, you can be proud of standing up, showing up and being heard, if you don’t then you should remember you had the opportunity to help yourself, someone you know and love and make a difference, but YOU chose to remain silent.
We are strong when we chose to stand together shoulder to shoulder.

Thanking all of you who support us by becoming members. Without your continued donations and support we cannot go to Tallahassee, conferences and other venues where we speak up for the injustices placed upon all our population and the injustice and fraud being committed against every Floridian by failed policies our legislators continue to promote!

I invite you to reach out to me anytime through [email protected] and address it to President of FAC, and to please forward our contact information to your friends and family. They need to stand up, be counted and fight. The legislators will listen when we stand together and they see our numbers.

We are all Floridians and the legislature, law enforcement and its agencies and representatives work for “US”!!!

Warm regards,
