Thank you so much for that, Sarah. I’m sorry that you lost your husband and had to answer some questions that weren’t very comfortable to answer. My daughter is the executor of my estate, so I will let her know how to respond when she does contact the VA about my death.

My offense wasn’t a capital offense, and the judge in my case issued a sentence below the state sentencing guidelines. I was in the county jail for 6 months, then probation for 7 years.

Our departed friend Captain Munsey lost his base access and I have not tried myself but not going to risk trying. I am a dependent and a few years back some of the bases started I.d-ing everyone in the vehicle. My parents go to the same base the Captain frequented.
Basically if they didn’t let me in, I would have to stand outside the gates in the hot sun while they visited the base.

You have saved other veterans and their families from additional pain. You are right about the VA. I’m 50% disabled and have never even had the subject of registration come up anywhere in the VA system. I’ve also gotten excellent medical care at my local VA hospital. Thanks again.
