Some people cannot let things go, torture themselves, and their hatred just eats them up on the inside. It causes all sorts of emotional and physical problems. For most of my life I was an anger addict, It felt better to be angry and hateful than to allow myself to feel the pain of abuse and let it go. As hard as it was I have forgiven those who abused me. And believe me it wasn’t easy. One of the hardest person to forgive was myself!!! It took 15 years of therapy and soul searching to get to where I am now. Not saying that I don’t get angry at times but I let it go and don’t dwell on it. I no longer feel tense all the time, My stomach problems are no longer bothering me except for the acid reflux. Maybe someone who reads this will take a hard look into themselves and maybe my experience will help.

In reply to Donna. Good point, Donna! This law has nothing to do with children! Children are exposed to violent TV shows and violent video games in the home that can influence them to become violent. This law has nothing to do with what goes on in the child's home. Children can live with violence all around them, but Lauren is concerned with what goes on in the homes without children. Will there be a committee to approve dolls not to be childlike in appearance or will the decision if the doll is illegal be decided after it is determined the race of the accused?

When will the people of Florida come to their senses and get rid of these bozos in the statehouse? I fear sanity will never return to Florida before global warming inundates the whole place. What I can understand is why the federal courts – in South Florida particularly – are so reluctant to get with the rest of the country and begin to stop warring on sex and sexual expression in all forms. The prosecutors down there are corrupt and think only of convictions if and when they can be obtained. Of course it helps a defendant to be a billionaire, just like it did for Jeffrey Epstein and his case which was almost con commitment with mine in time and space. My offense was non–contact and nonviolent. Yet I got 97 months imprisonment, and “lifetime” everything else — Registration and supervised release. Epstein got a slap on the wrist. Almost no time at all and freedom to go to work every day for the few months he did spend in prison.

I may have said this before, but cannot understand why any person so abused as Lauren Book would want to devote her life to more and more exposure to anything remotely related to her 6+ years of abuse. I understand that it brings more money to her charity, but at the same time must continuously remind her of the past. At some point she may look back and see how her Senate position has been a waste of her time. The intentions may seen rational to her but really have no positive effect on helping children. I agree with other posts that efforts to help children are being overlooked, ie; drug abuse, hunger, education, drunk driving, foster care, not to mention the children of registrants!

Sorry to be cranky about this, Mary, but I am seeing a lot of FAC posters beating up on a registrant for doing nothing more than making a comment when a reporter called.

Y’all are acting like he lobbied the legislature to hurt registrants rather than express a casual opinion about some rather silly legislation for which reasonable people could go either way and about which FAC takes a neutral position.

If FAC is going to turn this registrant into an enemy for expressing an opinion, then count me on his side as one of his defenders (regardless of my own view of this silly legislation).

In reply to joseph. Craig Crenshaw has not done anything associated with this bill or its sponsors, other than state an opinion when a reporter called. I can assure you that his commenting had no impact whatsoever on the viability of the legislation or on the lives of his fellow registrants.

I google this guy up Craig Crenshaw and I wonder what he thinks sucking up to this Bill gonna do for him I agree with Matt. This fellow register
citizen sucking up to the politicans’ ass isn’t helping anyone. He comes out of the wood-works like he something special!
I rather see someone get off on a plastic bag then do it to a child. Shout Out to Craig go back to your rock where you slidden from!
