The branding of Driver’s licenses and IDs is state compelled speech. If the case is won branding would clearly do away with the red letters as well.

you think kids are asking people for their ID or….? do you think the guy at the gas station while I’m buying beer who asks to see my ID needs to know this information about me? or when I’m buying a car it’s protecting kids somehow?

None of this “let everyone know” campaign makes any sense. I’m just trying to live my [moderated] life.

By putting red letters on your driver’s license is another form of punishment. When a cop pulls you over for any reason, the first thing they do is run your license plate. Your registry status will come up on their computer. The best thing I’ve ever did was leave Floriduh.

If Registries worked and Red Lettering worked , wouldn’t it be used for the drug dealers that are killing children and adults? Maybe voters need to be educated on what their legislators can do to their lives by not having data to prove their reasons for making and passing laws that does nothing to protect anyone. There is just no common sense to the registry or red lettering.

From what I have seen in these committee meetings, our legislators do not seem to have the wherewithal to understand what they are voting on or the repercussions that the bills they vote into law will have on society.

They are a tight-knit group that seems to think whatever their colleague says must be true. No fact checking and no reliance on research is evident.

I have more that I would like to say on this subject but know that our moderator will not allow it, and rightfully so.

In reply to Facts should matter. I have the right to vote as I have had my civil rights restored. So if they do turn me away because of my license having red lettering on it would be denying me of my civil rights. The lawsuit would be “HUGE”.
