In reply to Howard o. Add in a domestic violence registry. After all , the facts show this crime has close to a 40% recidivism rate. Eliminating all registries makes sense, but until the sex offender registry is completely eliminated we should add these 2 registries.

I can understand the bitterness and anger by being on the Registry myself. But do we really need anyone registry? I read this comments posted here How can anybody want to inflict cruelty upon another person by wanting this? Hasn’t there been enough lives destroyed? I would not want this for anyone even the worst person out there deserves redemption.
I was a death-row orderly while at Union Correction on Close Mangerment I watch the most harden people break down and cry and have been told by them they did not mean to take another life. Talking to these Men made me change my behavior I felt God Had me there for that reason Every One Deserves forgiveness.
Abolished the Registry and Don’t make new ones!!!

I feel that the more registries that bring attention to the average Public that anyone can land on a registry, the better. They will realize that It might even happen to them, if there are enough ridiculous registries, and finally the public will start to oppose all registries, including the SO registry. If a DUI registry is next, then an animal cruelty, then a shoplifting, then a speeding, etc, the public will begin to resist all registries and ask their representatives to abolish them. As long as the SO registry remains the only one, nothing will ever be done to abolish it by the general public. I don’t support opposing this registry, and support all new registries, to bring attention to everyone, that anyone, including them, can land on a registry…

Let them do it. Keep making registries. Make registries for everything. Make everyone have to report the the sheriffs office any time they want to make any major changes in their lives. Maybe then, they will see the fallacy in all this
