I agree that what they are doing should apply to adults as well. If you read the entire article, every word stated applies to adults, and they are admitting that it is punishment being on the registry. Now for some judges and justices to say that. I hope Florida is listening.

Wow, because I met a Young Man who was charged with having consensual sex when he was 16yrs old and she 15yrs old and that lasted until he was 19 and her 17 etc…..then at 21yrs old he got slammed….5 years in and 43 years of SO Probation in the State of Florida, Lakeland County!….., Yes, 43 years of sex offender probation in FLORI-DUH!
His Church turned him in….he is the nicest and most respectful person One would ever meet..but he got screwed!..no pun intended!

I’ve been fighting my case for 17 yrs now and I have proof that I was not required to register but South Carolina and Florida says otherwise so why shouldn’t the kids who are doing the same thing I did to get on here be on the registry for life. They are no better than you or I so if they get a break then I or you or whoever else is in our shoes should be given the same opportunity. I’ll tell you this the federal government is the one who is funding the states sex offender list but not one state is “United “ in the laws that pertain to the sex offender registry

I was thrown to the dogs and took a plea deal. Not knowing that 30 years later at 46 I’d still be dealing with this. I hope they dont make any kid go through what I did. I never imagined as a kid I’d have to expieenece the things I did. I hope they seriously stop destroying lives. You would think this would easily be common sence but yet law makers, and prosecutors still continue to destroy young peoples lives.
