Nebraska seems more sensible than Washington state. Enticement By Electric Device carries a 0-5 year sentence, $5k, or both. They also can go out on Work Release in Community Custody and allowed to go on off site visits.

I don’t know if that’s still the law, but it was when I was sentenced and I would of heard about it if things change.

In the state of washington, all convicted from sex stings get more time than those who commit the crime, except those who commit the crime who do not know the victim (which is a very small number). This is because if you KNOW the victim, you are eligible for diversion. Those in the stings are not able to know the victim as there is no victim, thus no diversion is available to us. A man who violates his stepdaughter will get a max of 1 year prison time. A man on an adult dating site pulled in through bait and switch will get an average of 6 years.

Oh in 1992 my current girlfriend was almost 3; so don’t tell anyone. Today Anne is 33 and an amazing woman in graduate school with triple areas of study; well four if you count me. If it wasn’t for the registry I’d propose in a heartbeat; however I don’t my stigma to affect what she’s worked so hard to accomplish. Hopefully better days are in store for all registrants, families, and supporters.

I have seen people caught in these stings end up getting more time for a internet sting where there was no “Real victim” get more time than someone who actually had physical sex.

So many factors like what police agency, the judge, your lawyer, how much money you have etc. plays into it. We see all the time on the news a murderer gets off because of a technicality or the victims do not testify because they are threatened. If someone with any sex offense gets out of the charges, the state uses every resource to retry them even if they have to “Make” something up.

Personally I am not looking for any appeals or anything, I just want off of this registry for something I did 30 years ago when it did not exist. I had no say in the matter and was “Retroactively” put on it. Heck I am surprised they have not dug up dead people and brought them back to court to add new charges. That would make about as much sense.

Yes I was 12 in 1992. My parents are 72-73, so you could of been my dad. Having socks that are 40 years old is better than underwear that old. Could you imagine if those tighty whities talked? At least your secrets would be out.

I don’t understand how the heck you are still on the registry and aren’t allowed to vote. Crazy to think the early 90’s being sane compared to today.

I knew you were being sarcastic and it reminds me of a story out of Sarasota. There’s a statue of a sailor embracing a nurse; which caused a stir. Some found the statue offensive; while others didn’t.

In 1992 I was twelve and I remember this album for its music and not what’s on the cover. Are people offended by the song, “ Smells like Teen Spirit.”? How about Right Said Fred’s, “ I’m to Sexy.” At what rate does being offended stop because it’s destroying our country.

I spilled coffee on me this morning and I’m not going to sue because I’d be suing myself. I’ll make a note not to put my mug near my lap and if it happens again it’s my own fault.

I was being sarcastic with the “Grandpa in a speedo”. Was making a reference to the child porn claim and how odd that is. This guy bragged for years that, that was him on the cover and made a HUGE deal about it. Now all of a sudden he wants more money. It is ALL about getting paid.

I could see it if when he became a certain age and told his parents he did not consent to having his nude body plastered all over the place. But instead he posed again and even praised the album cover. I guess he thought “Hum, my parents only got $100 and I got NOTHING. Time to get paid”.

I hope it goes to jury trial and they deny him or even the judge just dismisses it as a frivolous lawsuit. It has “some” merit, but based on his own admission, it was ok, until he decided it wasn’t. No wonder it takes so long to get a case heard. People are suing Mcdonald’s because they spilled hot coffee on themselves. Hello, coffee is hot. Otherwise order an iced coffee.
