My son has a mental disability and was charged with being a sex offender for life in Ohio, we now live in Florida and that continues for life here. The restrictions have made it difficult to obtain medical health treatment for him. In Florida, they told us he was only allowed outpatient treatment because he is a sex offender, we have not been getting the needed help so we tried to take him for treatment outside of Florida back to Ohio who will help him. However, we have no place to live there except staying in hotel room and when we contacted the sheriff’s office in Florida, we were not allowed to stay more than 30 days or the temporary residence in Ohio needed to be made permeate which we could not do living in a motel room. So, we stopped treatment in Ohio and came back to Florida to prevent any residency violation. It seems that mental illness plays no justification when it comes to consideration for those on the registry. I pray for all the registrants to begiven a second chance in life.

i’m concerned for future i went to er for chest pain, a few days later i had open heart surgery and was told i should be thankful i was not arrested for not reporting a change of address. now my memory is starting to go and i have no one im scared. so just like a motel room if you change rooms that room number is technically a different address so every time in a hospital room i would need to check out of hospital and go into police to register a new address and go back to hospital. it’s just the way the law is written. changing motel / hotel rooms, hospital rooms is a different address

I am on disability,and it’s been very bad for me as well, I am very scared for the future where will I go when I can’t take care of myself? I also have three stents in my heart, so I’m questioning this a lot in my life.

And why should these folks be denied life giving care at the end of their lives in assisted living facilities just because of a moniker placed upon them by others? According to the trolls here, who comment, they should be denied that ability because of the moniker regardless of them not being a threat, assessed or not. This needs to be researched and changed for the better for those who need this ability to live out their days with dignity.

My wife is disabled and I’m her caregiver. She can do a lot of things, but in the end it’s me who helps and drives. I’m the PFR.

I can definitely help with this one. It makes my life hell and im on disability for multiple life ending illnesses and im sure my mom could tell you exactly how bad it is
