It has always been there. But a certain something happened around ten years ago that gave the green light to acceptance of outright hatred in the public eye, not just of us, but any marginalized group. Just look at the growing resistance to Pride Month as an example.

One thing I think that is not helping matters is that all these people that grew up watching that appalling Dateline NBC show from the 2000s are now adults and trying to recreate it to varying degrees. Legislators discussed outlawing these so-called “citizen vigilante groups” but never passed (or even drafted) any legislation to outlaw this activuity.

Also later, he wrote, “According to police, the evidence currently suggests that Neal was targeted at random. ” This doesn’t make sense, unless the reporter meant the victim, not the alleged murderer.

I saw this scenario play out a few years ago. This isn’t surprising. Y’all probaby remember the guy who made headlines for beating an elderly registrant to death with a moose antler in Minnesota. He also got a lot of attention. Well he’s been claiming mental illness to avoid trial, but recently, the judge declared he was competent enough to stand trial.

Sure this clown may be a few thousand, but he’ll still go to prison where he will be largely forgotten by the general public as they move on to the next freak of the week.

The sad thing is, even though none of us on here typing have been killed, but almost all of us have been threatened, harassed, been the victim of a crime, physical to our body or damage to our property while on the registry. And the list goes on, but the lawmakers seem to think it’s no big deal because we deserve the punishment that they deny is punishments.

At any moment we could be next, just walking out our own front door. I am not paranoid but I actually
look out all of my windows before I leave the house to see if there is anyone in my yard, on the sidewalk or looks suspicious or someone I do not know and or had not seen before on my street.

I wonder if the shoe was on the other foot and it was that young man who was the registrant getting killed. That family would not be praising, but either way, hopefully he will go to prison for a good long time.
