I’m 50 years old and get a honorably discharged military retirement. To supplement, I have to work a hard labor job because no one will hire me due to being a PFR. I work as a Mover even on extremely hot Florida days. Sometime carrying furniture and boxes to 3rd story apartments (which I have done 2 times this week). I riske getting hurt and not being able to work everyday. But I have no choice. It’s either hard labor or nothing else. I spent 20+ years in the military and have 2 college degrees from reputable colleges and can’t get nothing but hard labor jobs due to having to register. Basically the state of Florida has made my life into a Russian gulag where you work hard labor until you can’t do it no more.

Right? I save up aluminum cans to cash in just to pay for some of my medications. Many on the registry either cannot work either because they are disabled, retired, or cannot find a job because it is super hard to get a job being on the registry. They hold us down, then expect us to pay a fee? Is there no end to what they can do to us? And those who do work, some of them get lower pay.
The oppression of those who are no longer on paperwork is just maddening. Having to register and follow pages of rules, having to spend a day a few times a year to stand in line with other registered persons and feeling depressed and embarrassed when law enforcement comes to our doors numerous times a year. And of course, the nosey neighbors or Karens come over to ask why cops were at your house, and “What did you do this time” gets really old.
