“murder” is what it says. No distinction of “first degree..” etc.

They should actually not exclude anyone who is off probation.

The bad news is that we will likely have to present some option that kind of splits the difference. Perhaps a proposal that differentiates between people convicted of “life” felonies, a limited number of 1st° felonies, those classified as tier three offenders/sexual predators and repeat offenders and on the other side, everyone else on the registry. Does anyone know if the proposal includes all people convicted of homicide or just the ones convicted of murder?

Please let us know if and/or when they respond and what they have to say for themselves. **Personally, I think this is just another group that is in bed with or has been bought out by certain lobbyists or members of the legislature and probably cut a deal with someone saying “OK, we’ll scratch your back and give you your rights back, if you’ll help us continue our isolation of sex offenders.” Or something to that effect. Believe you me, when it’s all said and done, everything, and I mean everything comes down to MONEY.

Good letter. I only would have added that among the registered are teenagers, some convicted as adults for producing and distributing child pornography for sexting other teens (if applicable).

Personally, I question the fitness to vote of individuals and organizations like FFD, whose positions appear based on ignorance or disregard of proven facts in favor of refuted hysteria and unsupported stereotyping.
