In reply to <a href="https://floridaactioncommittee.org/fac-sunday-lookout-support-hope-advocacy/comment-page-1/#comment-76886">James</a>.

James

My doctor that I liked and was close to my house at a Florida based hospital, caused me to leave the doctor when two of the staff looked me up (Supposing my status was already in their system).
I overheard the two female staff members whispering as I sat in the waiting room and pretending I was not hearing what they said and looking down at a magazine. I had ear surgery in the past and can hear a bird a mile away, so I clearly heard them gossiping about me being a sex offender.

Sadly, when I went in to see the doctor, he wouldn't even look at me and did an exam on me, then left without saying a word. Yet, his silence spoke volumes. When I got home, I called my medical insurance and asked to find a new doctor, that was not part of the hospital system.

Finally, what happened to the medical oaths doctors and nurses have to uphold for confidentiality? Spreading this to other workers is not confidentiality it is gossip and, in my opinion, illegal, but we know since we are considered the bottom of the barrel, not many are going to stick up for us.

Oak Hill Hospital in Spring Hill scans the ID of all visitors. Tis is done upon entry by security or volunteer upon entry.
It changed over the past 4 months. Now the registry flier pic pops up rather than just the photo they take to print on the visitor pass.
This causes a delay on entry because the workers don't know why two photos are popping up on their screen.
No change in visiting access yet and no change in treatment but it's only a matter of time before the employees find out why.
That being said if you take a family member to the Emergency room you have to get a visitor badge. So things could get difficult quickly.

I can't remember all of the details, but went to Hollywood, Florida and needed to get a hotel room for the night. Walked in, spoke to the clerk, he had a room, he asked for my driver license and then looked up and said, I'm sorry, but I can't rent you a room. I just picked up my DL, said thank you and left. Slept in my car that night. This was December 2023.

Sometimes it feels like we live in a third World country for some of the treatments registered persons endure. Law enforcement talking down to us, neighbors hating us, people losing their jobs once the secret is out and even medical staff acting like we do not deserve equal care.

I would hope that eventually judges who are sworn to justice, could realize we are being sentenced long after our sentences, they just do not see it that way. Calling it a regulatory scheme does not make it any better.

Until something changes, the wild west sheriffs will continue to find ways to lock us up over a piece of paper.
