When the risk to just exist surpasses the risk to volunteer for FAC. That leaves all of us who can help, should do so immediately. We can no longer sit back and wait for it to get worse. Our exposure to risk just by being alive has turn to a level worse than risking any minimal threat by volunteering.

JJ – The Motion to Seal was a motion to keep private the names of those registrants who gave testimony in this case. Mainly of how the registry has impacted their day to day lives. IE the how the law actually affects them in its realistic application. FAC asked the court to keep their names out of the public spotlight and was successful. Well done FAC and firm.

There’s nothing too interesting so far, apart from the initial filing in this FAC message. The free docs will show a link to download the PDF version of the file.

I am using RECAP to save any documents that I buy from PACER (the court records website) to the site above. I’m only going to download things I think are interesting to look at, and will only check for new docs every couple of weeks. Downloading from PACER can get expensive and challenging, so I won’t be going crazy. You can attach the RECAP extension to your own browser easily, if you want. Just make sure the extension is active in your browser before buying pages from PACER. Also, make sure the docs you want aren’t already saved to the Court Listener site above.

Was looking at Pacer Monitor and unless I am reading wrong we have our first win in this case. The motion to seal was granted.

It’s time for Texas Voices for Reason and Justice to sue Texas DPS for the same reasons FAC sued FDLE. Sadly, though, a city wide residence ordinance made in Fort Worth was taken to the 5th Circuit Appeals Court in New Orleans where the justices sided with the city of Fort Worth in upholding the residency restriction. Texas is copying Florida legislative actions to the letter of the law.
