I’ve had a ring doorbell now for 6 years, its a very useful tool when cops come to call, my officer turns on his iPhone reverses it in his top pocket before he pushes the doorbell and tapes the whole thing, as we are doing the same…

I have a 30 foot notice before anyone comes to the door, with the chime of approach….

Some red locktight takes care of any attempt to remove the license plate, unless you have a propane torch in your vehicle,, to loosen it….both of our trucks have nut/bolts on them..

If you think you are the only one on amazon that has those bolt remover tools, think again. When I worked in law enforcement, people would tell me how they put special locks, special this and special that.
Also some of the home break ins that are done professionally are guys who either use to be lock smiths or still are. Some of them get into that profession for a reason. We responded to many home burglaries that were done so well that not a speck of dust was changed.
In and out using a key to the front door made by the locksmith 2 weeks earlier. That in fact is what stumped us until the lady said “Funny because I just had a guy come install new locks for me a few weeks back”.
Your best defense is what you stated, check your tags every time you leave. I do that anyway because people do steal tags. Also if you don’t already have them, invest in a security camera. BEST evidence in the World for someone on the registry especially if someone accuses you of something to get you out of their neighborhood. Or in my case, two kids throwing rocks at my house and denied it. Cops came, video shown, kids busted.

Im in south Florida,Broward County, living in a township city, i talked to a lawyer that supports FAC,He said there’s nothing i can do but file a complaint to the city police, internal Affairs division, but the repercussions could be severe, so i just let them call and come, in not going to move, a few years going to court to be removed from RSO list….

I was told by some other RSO’s they were being seen monthly also.

Last year we also had a Tag swapping going here,where they swapped your tag with someone elses, then do a house check and they ask you why is your tag on your registration different than thats on your car…..

I do a vehicle check every day before i move either truck, to see that everything is correct….

I bought special anti-theft bolts on Amazon so no one can remove my car tags but me..this was over a year ago when I installed the special bolts,haven’t heard anything about it since…..

Rick what state are you in? That is total harassment. I was complaining of getting checked on 2 times a year. I have to register 4 times a year which is wrong according to my lawyer and the Cop who checks on me. But I have already sued FDLE once and won, but their revenge was so harsh I dare not challenge them again.

But yeah I think If I was getting checked on that many times not on probation I would burst into flames. Do you live in a city limits? I had that same issue when I lived in the city. I had city cops, county deputies, a marching band and everyone who cared coming to do compliance checks.

As soon as I moved away and live in a rural county, I get left alone other than 2 check ups and 4 times I have to go in person (supposed to be 2 times a year)

I haven’t been on probation for over 17 years, the every 3-4 week check started last year in March, and is still going on, I expect to be called by my police check up officer in 5 days….

To be clear, I do go to the door when I see it is the Deputy who verifies me ONCE per year ALONE. He is nice, just asks if I have any issues and I always make a joke and say “The whole World has issues”.
Then I don’t see him again for a year and he leaves me alone. Having said that, when 3 US marshalls show up at your door, having worked in Law enforcement myself, that is NOT a good time to open the door.

U.S marshalls have been known to manipulate themselves into getting into your home and doing illegal searches, then telling judges YOU welcomed them into your home because you had nothing to hide. Before you know it, they are attaching devices to your computer and you are being hauled away in cuffs because you did not report a dead cockroach in your kitchen.

All the BAD people out there on the run and the Marshalls are going after easy targets and low hanging fruit??? Got to love America.
