Thanks None. I presume, since the White Paper was authored anonymously, that you were the one who put it together. That’s fine and it’s good work. The problem with using any of the findings or citing to them as scientific research is that it’s unpublished and not peer reviewed (which is not critical, but carries a lot of weight when it comes to how authoritative a Court would find it). You base the statistic that a registrant commits suicide every 16 hours, but base that number on an arbitrary multiplier.

What I would suggest is contacting some of the main social scientists in this arena and sharing the report with them. Maybe they would consider co-authoring? Maybe they can help get it published?

I’ve forwarded your White Paper to Jackie in our education and research committee. She is working with some of these social scientists and is collaborating on a study. I’ll ask her to get in touch.

The medical officer who evaluated me for my retirement a few years ago told me they were conducting a study examining the relationship between combat-related trauma and sexual offenses because they had noticed the numbers appeared to be unusually high. She said they specifically wanted to determine whether there was a connection to cognitive decision-making and how combat-related trauma might affect it. Ever since then, in 2017, I’ve been reading everything I can find on the subject and trying to stay up to date with the research.
