FAC sould qualify for a non-profit USPS postage rate, meaning y’all can send out a mailer at a reduced rate.

Realistically there are only about 30k RPs actually living free in the state. I used the USPS rate calculator, and depending on what you qyualfy for, doing 30k letters, if only needing a single, standard 1oz. stamp, can be done for as little as $17,790.

Of course the question then becomes who responds to them? I’ve heard mixed success with other groups that have sent out mailers in the past. I did my own on a far smaller scale back when I engaged in other public events and I can’t say it did much for me.

One cheap thing folks can do is leave flyers for FAC at your local registry office if you can. Just one or two, even. Maybe someone coming in to register sees them.

What if a small volunteer group began visiting different counties throughout Florida on behalf of FAC to build relationships with local sheriff’s offices and registration departments?

We could start by contacting these offices in advance and asking to speak with the staff who oversee sex offender registration programs. The goal would be to provide informational flyers and resources that could be distributed directly to registrants or made available at registration offices.

Volunteers could then visit participating counties to establish ongoing contacts, answer questions, provide information about available resources, and offer assistance when appropriate. By focusing on one county every week or two, the effort would remain manageable while gradually expanding our reach across the state.

This approach could help increase awareness of FAC’s services, strengthen relationships with local agencies, and ensure that more individuals receive information about available support and resources. Is this an opportunity worth exploring?

There are mail house firms such as Taylor Corporation and Amsive Direct Mail and theaddressers.com that can send post cards at a much reduced cost instead of buying a bunch of paper and envelopes and then relying on volunteers to stuff and fold. Just an idea.
