not really. you can't bring a case to a supreme court involving a specific regulatory requirement (like posting internet identifiers or residency restrictions) if the court hasn't already declared these laws punitive in nature. Currently they are considered regulatory (like having to have a current drivers license) and so into order to get the court to deem any one specific rule unlawful is too much of a stretch for them. So it was easy for them to say, "hey these aren't rules to punish, so yes of course it's ok to give your internet identifiers, while you are on probation... more the merrier if it means protecting the public." The cases that are winning right now are cases in which probation is done, sentences have been served and STILL the regulations are enforced. When it comes to those people are trying to get the regulations changed, that will most likely come from legislative decisions (the laws changed) and not from a judicial body. That's why FAC is constantly working in Tallahassee as well. Kind of two separate avenues one needs to take in order to obtain relief. It depends on where you are in the process of the sentence. But it is possible. Many have done it. Florida is just being unusually stubborn. Keep up the good fight!

This is what happens when you bring a S.O. case to a state's Supreme Court without FIRST getting that court to recognize the punitive nature of these laws. Since they are considered regulatory and legally do not have the intention to punish, embarrass or shame then it's hard to get the court to rule them unconstitutional or in violation of any law.

Your going to have to get used to "Civil Disobedience". Read Article 1 Section 9 of the U.S. Constitution. It says "NO BILL OF ATTAINDER OR EX POST FACTO LAW SHALL BE PASSED". This does NOT give a Lawmaker or a Judge an out. It says what it says and means what it means. If you are not on probation or parole and have nothing left to serve on your sentence and the laws were passed AFTER your sentence was complete. Then Article 1 Section 9 says you do not have to comply.
In addition, just because you are convicted of anything, does not mean you have given up your FREE SPEECH. Stat up to them. Its known as CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE and when you are in the right, as most of us are who have completed your sentence, it's hard to make any law stick.

oh no this is awful! how can the judge not think it is a suppression of free speech??? Actually the RSO laws are not from a conviction at all - if they were then they would be included int he adjudication and they are usually not because they are supposedly civil
