The real “punishment (not that it’s punishment… no no that has been made very clear)”, is that the registry is public: registry keeps PFRs unemployed, homeless, and victims of vigilantism.

In a couple of years when my father dies and I’m sleeping in a dumpster, the public aspect of the registry is what will keep the public safe from me getting a job as a dishwasher or waiter.

Besides, why keep it private at all? it’s not punitive remember?
