No one who passes these laws cared about what it takes to abide by these laws. Back in 2006, when I lived in Ohio and their 1000 foot laws, it took seven months and 131 phone calls to find a place to live. Of course, I'd get few people who were nasty about it, and others would claim they were close to schools or concerned about insurance and liability, yadda yadda.

But once I found a person willing to rent to me, I'd have to take the address to the Sheriff's office and they'd run it through their computer program. Once, only a small patch of the property was touching the red, so it was something like 995 feet away from a school or daycare, so no dice.

A few years later (2011), the Ohio Supreme Court determined that residency restrictions are punitive and can't be apploed retroactively. I had to move again in 2014, and I only needed to call 34 places to find three potential places to rent in less than a month. I still had a few nasty rejections but it was way easier to find a place without dealing with residency laws.

I can't imagine trying to find a place willing to rent to us down there in FloriDUH if up 99.98% of properties is effectively unopen to us.

But I have ALWAYS believed that these laws are designed for maximum cruelty. The cruelty is the point.

This is all very, very good!!
Residency restrictions are equivalent to geographical incarceration.
If this is not stopped, everyone will be in a few small spaces and then they will complain that there are too many registrants in one area and force everyone out only to be arrested for a geographical violation.

EXACTLY! These laws are impossible to understand and follow in any rational or accurate way. The entire state feels like a big mine field BECAUSE IT IS ONE! The maps in this report show how crazy all of this has become. I got off of probation in 2002 in now feel like I'm on de-facto house arrest because of all this unending nonsense! Unenforceable and unconstitutional laws ARE WASTING EVERYONE'S TIME, including law enforcement officers!!! Florida politicians are just overcompensating for letting Epstein and Maxwell operate here with impunity for decades!! ONE BIG DISTRACTION!!!!

Very good point. Afterall, they’re all just bullies and thugs. High school bullies with a badge. They get a rush from kidnapping their fellow humans, knockin’ them around and having control over others. Since I’m not a control freak or bully, I can’t even try to imagine going into any part of enforcing legal fictions for dirty politicians.

Hurts my heart to even think about having that job. Hurts my heart to have to realize there are people that enjoy doing harm to others, taking freedom from other humans, for money and power over other people. And they are unable to see the vileness of their actions. It’s truly pitiful what has been done to humanity.

If its too overburdensome/tedioud for the state to provide, then imagine how impossible it is for us to figure out on our own? It should be a state requirement to provide clear and concise definitions to us, or done away with completely, period.
