Bit off the subject, but wanted to note that I feel this guy’s pain from a side note in the article that people were more concerned about his atheism than his SO status. As an atheist SO myself, I can say that I am actually more comfortable telling people my SO status than my religious stance. Want to talk about being persona non grata….we atheist SOs are *really* looked down upon, so I found that quote from the sheriff a bit interesting.

Small county = small towns = small MINDS. And you might as well apply the same formula to every other county in North, North Central, and the Panhandle of Florida. Levy is one of many small-minded counties in this area surrounded by other ones like Gilchrist, Dixie, Lafayette, Suwannee, Madison, etc, etc… They are full of small towns, small minds, and people who overwhelmingly vote REPUBLICAN. That is another problem that hasn’t been mentioned much, we need more DEMOCRATS in the State Congress. Both houses are overwhelmingly Republican. I don’t agree with the Democratic party, but for the most part they are reasonable when it comes to dealing with issues like this. They tend to loosen up, not tighten down on laws. And isn’t it telling about the statistics of SO’s in Florida. Well duh, not only are the number of crimes listed as a sex offense increasing, but Florida is still steadily increasing and creating criminals through these ridiculous sex stings year after year after year so they can steadily get that Federal ICAC grant money for increasing prosecutions for cyber sex “crimes.” . I’m constantly seeing it on the news. So yes, it’s no wonder Levy County has a so-called “sex offender” on every street just about. Blame your state government officials you small-minded sheeple of Florida. THAT’S WHY you have so many “sex offenders” around you. Wake Up people and see what’s really going on here. Increased government control over your lives. Now it’s sex offenders, but later on, it will be ALL of us!
