More often than not, it’s to get them out of the way before they do something really stupid to cost their department money.

I’d bet the officer here fits into that mold almost perfectly.

The reason, most of the time when a registered person is attacked, the police could care less. at least this registered fellow got some justice and the employee ruined their own career over hate.
