First of all, if registered citizens knew the consequences before offending, I would estimate 90% would not have. Secondly, her statement, “If I know a sex offender lives next door to me and see kids going into that backyard, that’s a red flag,” really guiles me. The child could be a family member who is okay to be there. Unfortunately, all it takes is an anonymous call to DCF and your house is ransacked and you are charged. Finally, Langlye mentions programs. Well, in Florida, you can go to all the programs and still never get off the registry.
