I saw one story of a guy who was chatting with someone he thought was a 14 year old girl. They were to meet in person ( it was a sting ). At the last minute the guy got scared and stayed home. Not sure what all he SAID on the chats but he not only didn’t touch anyone, it was not a real underage person AND he never left the house. Guess what, they showed up at his house and arrested him anyway for soliciting a minor. Probably get the same sentence as someone who actually did something physical with an underage person. If you are thinking of running a red light and see a cop then slam on the breaks and change your mind, do they still get charged with running a red light? NO . To me stings are bogus. We have people waiting 3 to 4 hours for an officer / Deputy to show up to write a report when their house is broken into and yet we can take 100’s of officers and assign to them fake stings. Even when I worked in law enforcement I thought that was a waste of time. I use to talk to some of the women officers who dressed as street walkers to catch and arrest johns. I always asked them, while you are doing that, I am calling for back up and have to wait 10 minutes for help? Waste of money and resources. Guess that is why I was not very popular on the force. I treated everyone with respect that I arrested no matter if they were black, white, old , young, gay, straight, Christian, Muslim, Democrat or Republican. To me they were people and someone’s son or daughter, husband, father etc

JSO, FDLE don’t care. each month the doing “sex stings” adult site but lately don’t say how where etc because last time they said got people with now past records. The paper shows they “targeted”. its all about Ego Image for the law enforcement to gain NUMBERS and %% and Protect their funding for fancy toys etc that They don’t know how to use.
Hamilton C I is about 65/70% sex crimes Florida prison fulled but Duval and Orlando area(county). Many no victims, no minors just arriving or texting that they changed 1/2 way, etc. Florida is getting out of control and know stoping because it benefits all department etc. Give them a badge, and poof they untouchable and laws dont apply.

I wish I had taken a plea deal. My Lawyer was afraid of the judge and just told me to throw myself on the mercy of the court and hope for the best. And this was a PAID expensive lawyer. The sentence I got I might as well have shot the Pope , the Queen of England and a pack of puppies. If I had a time machine and knew what I know now I would have never darkened a door of prison. Of course if I had that time machine I would undo what I did to get me in trouble in the first place. The accuser didn’t even show up to court. That should have been the win for my lawyer to pounce , instead he left the court room in tears. I did so much good in my community before my arrest and wish I could now but I keep a low profile now.

Once again, another example of a state doing the logical thing, unlike Floriduhhh.

But Floriduhhh’s unwillingness to segregate SO’s is intentional. The DOC here just loves to promote a dangerous and deadly environment in their prisons. I saw it firsthand. Step 1, single out the SO’s. Step 2, take away any meaningful programs to keep inmates occupied. That’s pretty much what they’ve done.

When is a child not a child? The Answer…. When hes the one who committed the crime. That’s when. If or she is the victim they are a helpless child. If they committed the crime. They are predator and should be charged as an adult. That’s convenient for the prosecution.

The PLN ad campaign sounds like a great idea. But if Florida state inmates won’t be able to see it, I’m unsure who the intended audience is. That’s what I was getting at with my question about the challenge. If it mainly will be seen by inmates outside of FL, then this would be a good one for NARSOL (if they are not involved already).
