This is a police state of a Nation, it will never end.

Boooooooooo…..we don’t have to bear arms but following the law? The law is only effective when everyone follows it. I am not suggesting we violate or break the law but I do suggest we come together on a national level and say if the laws don’t change we will all stand together against them. I would love for all forced to register people to just say we ain’t doing it. We are no different then anyone else we did our time and we aren’t going to let anyone take away our rights to freedom peace and happiness but alas that requires unity and we don’t have enough people ready to unify on that level. We need a delicate balance of safe non violent radical action and relying on the courts system. My son was playing a game online and a 14 year old kid said he had to go to court for nudies he got from his girlfriend. How long before we stand? How many lives have to be ruined

How in the world would any one know that one is an SO, unless they run your ID before you go aboard. Which, you are not required by law to carry a DL or ID for that matter, so I don’t understand how any one would even find out that one is an SO.

I wish I could share your optimism. Unfortunately, bills do not have to “pass the court systems” before they become law. Considering the myriad of bizarre “sex offender” laws that have already passed in Floriduh and elsewhere, I would be surprised if this one doesn’t become law.

Also, they will take away our money and we will have to carry dollar bills that say “Sex Offender” on them. They will only be worth 1/2 what a normal dollar is worth and can only be used in specific “Sex offender” stores run by the Department of Corrections.

Not a far stretch for something like this to happen. Baby steps. They throw a new one at us every legislative session.
I remember wayyyy back when the registries first started, there was a small town that every week they featured a few registered offenders that lived in the area in the paper.

Sometimes bad stuff has to happen to us unfortunately for the courts to finally step in and say enough is enough. If people cannot get to work, they lose their job and things go down hill from there.

If you cannot support your family, what can you do. If you cannot get to work, you are being held down and can not succeed.
Bad enough it is almost impossible to find a place to live or get someone to hire you. Throw in not being able to get to work and………well you fill in the blanks.

Kinda agree on this assessment – though still something to worry about.

Liberals tend to view convicted criminals as human beings who need help so they can put their lives back together. Conservatives tend to view convicted criminals as morally defective people who must be separated from society. Though there are notable exceptions such as the conservative Right on Crime movement (and our president, during those moments when he has Kim Kardashian’s attention).

See how that works? I realize that we at FAC will never agree whether liberals or conservatives are more inherently reliable. What I do know is that FAC members come from across the political spectrum, and what unites us is that we are better-informed about how counter-productive registries are.

(Also, some of y’all will get mad at me for pointing out that Me Too has done more good than bad. But that is a separate issue from registration).
