In reply to George. Hi George, Everything you said was truth but I will still hold onto hope because I know that my Lord is in absolute control! I was just telling my wife that we are made out to be the modern day lepers. Thank you for your post and I will be praying for all of us on the registry that one day God will move His mighty hand and abolish the registry once and for all and us and our families will be able to breath and live again.

This weeks update spoke to my heart. I pray for all the families that have been affected by Hurricane Ian especially for those families of registered citizens who most probably had no choice but to hunker down during the storm.

Yes, we do care but in today’s society we have been made the modern day lepers and nobody wants to be around “them”. If keeping people “safe” is the real objective then why isn’t there a registry for convicted drug dealers or those with a DUI etc.. Don’t they pose a risk to the community? Don’t get me wrong, there should be no registry for any crime. Whatever happened to paying ones debt to society and then being left alone and moving on with their life? The registry is a punishment that keeps on punishing. Personally, I have no hope that this will ever go away until the day that the Lord calls me home.

Good morning everyone, I pray that everyone is well today. I Have a friend who just got out last month and due to his restrictions he was unable to find a place to live so his probation officer told him to go buy a tent and live in the woods. This is in Hernando county. Two days after he got out he told me that at 10:00 pm they saw flashlights coming towards them and it ended up being a different probation officer dropping of a 70 year old man to live in the woods along with my friend and four other guys. This makes me sick to my stomach and angers me as well!
On another note, after 10 years of trying to get my wife her Green Card and being denied twice (she is Canadian) and spending over $30,000 so far, we are trying for a third time. She gets denied because I fall under the Adam Walsh Act, yet they ask for all sorts of character reference letters and records etc… and we have given them all plus more and still get denied. I am wondering what we could possibly do different this time for them to give this poor woman her Green Card so she can travel back and forth from here to Canada. My wife has not been able to go home in 10 years and feels like she is some sort of a prison. If she goes back to Canada, US will not let her back in which is why she feels like she is stuck here in a prison like situation.
My heart aches for all of us and our families that are constantly being punished for trying to live a so called normal life after finishing our sentence or probation.

I was released from Florida prison in February 2017. I applied for and received my soc. Sec. Retirement on March 3. As soon as I could, I moved to Senegal Africa. I have been here 3 years. I have almost no contact with my family, grown children, grandchildren, siblings etc. The health care system here is horrible as is the infrastructure and the weather (hot hot hot). However, I live in relative peace. I am not having nightmares any more about forgetting to register or being barred from local restaurants or having “concerned” neighbors post flyers of me on every door in my apartment complex. I don’t cringe when I see a policeman. The ptsd of prison is no longer perpetuated by the fear of the registry. Slowly I am healing and regaining my self worth. I miss my family and I miss good roads and steady supply of electricity. I miss my doctor. I miss spring and fall. But the trade is worth the peace of mind. I am trying to move to France but may not be able to afford the much higher cost of living there. We’ll see.
