So what you're saying is that, if they let me register to vote then the State of Florida has not removed my rights to vote in Florida?

My offence was in Michigan. I paroled out to Florida. I have voted every time that I needed to vote...yes in Florida. My voters rights we're never taken away because of my conviction. So, my question is; I'm I violating the laws in Florida anytime I voted?

Thank you. That's kind of just a different way of saying what I was saying. I think the misunderstanding was that I was answering the question that specifically asked if sex offenders could vote. So my answer addressed that question. Adjudication withheld sex offenders can vote. Balloons sex offender or not cannot vote unless their civil rights are restored. I am not familiar with the exact rules but I Must have misunderstood that the rules about getting your civil rights restored did exclude sex offenders from going through that process. I wonder if there's many that have been granted those civil rights? So the bill that people are asking for is it just to have it automatic? I know I read the original of that particular bill and I did exclude sex offenders

Even under Charlie Crist, there was a carveout in the automatic restoration for denial of those convicted of certain offenses. Among those offenses that required a physical application were pretty much all offenses that would land one in the registry and murder.

This case is also one to watch as it would help restore voting rights for Florida Felons. The case is headed to a Sum Judgment hearing shortly. Maguire Vs Strange in Alabama has also recently filed additional outside rulings of Authority. Things are heating up all around.

The statement, "In Florida, RSOs cannot vote with the exception of those that are adjudication withheld." is incorrect.
Disenfranchisement in Florida has NOTHING to do with sex offender status or adjudication.
FELONS in Florida cannot vote unless they have had their civil rights restored.
Someone ADJUDICATED GUILTY of a misdemeanor can vote.
Someone adjudicated guilty of a sex offense who has had their civil rights restored can vote.
