I agree completely with your sentiments. I too have found myself comparing our situation with others affected by virus diplomacy.
They are upset because there are so many different rules and regulations that you don’t know what they all are and whether they apply to your situation or not. City rules county rules State rules. I live in a area that is on the border of two states and all have different rules so how do you keep up with everything. Many are very upset over all this, but it’s nothing compared to what registrants have to deal with with no end in sight. Every county, state and even federal government adds regulations. Unlike virus regulations which you are very unlikely to be arrested for violating registry regulations violated will put you in jail with a felony charge , attorney fees and much more. Many of those on the registry are from decades ago or falsely convicted or pressured to plea to something that never happened.
Welcome to America

So great to see you comment on this topic. I would venture to say most of us have some degree of mental health issue, whether we recognize it or not. We all have, and continue to experience the trauma that being charged with this type of crime and being in the registry is . Unless trauma is understood and recognized, the lingering effects will remain.

Kudos for the courage and leadership to speak to this. The good news is that there are solutions. There is no one-size-fits solution, but studies have shown reaching out others that are experiencing similar issues can help. I can recommend going to the NAMI website if anyone is interested in finding out more.
