Still waiting on Gundy decision. It is a horrible wait but it could be because they are deadlocked 4-4. If the ask for re hearing of Oral Arguments that will be good as justice Kavanaugh, I believe would side with Justice Gorsuch and rule for Gundy 5-4. Not sure how that helps us but would be a nice dent in the fender of SORNA.

The unique thing about this case is that a ruling would affect the entire way that Congress writes MANY laws where they leave it up to the Executive branch to fill in the details. It will be interesting to see if this Court is ready and willing to rock the boat. If they are, it might mean that they are also ready to address the fundamental unfairness of registries as a whole. THAT is where our true hope lies.

I’m telling you, I feel good about this panel of justices…even for future cases. Hopefully Ms. Baumgartel can bring future cases as well. They seem to like her and she really knows how to argue.

That’s the most promising thing I’ve ever heard on these cases. I never get my hopes up, but…it sure sounds good!
