My personal experience.
Officer comes to my home to verify residency.
I have a locked gate. A big sign that reads " NO TRESPASSING" "PRIVATE PROPERTY" FL s. 810.08. Yes the sign quoted the statue. Also, I had a nice camera facing towards front of my property . Officer suggested he needed to verify plates on my cars therefore needing access. I asked do I have to? ( Camera's recording ) I already knew the answer . But if the officer would've insisted under threat of arrest I would've let him pass onto property.
After hes long gone ...I would look into my legal options apart from filing a complaint. So, officer said well I don't know they didn't say anything about that.... So he went into something else quickly then revisited the question, so are you going to let me in. I said no this only prolongs this in home verification process. He said ok I'll make a note that you didn't want to grant acces. I walked away. End of visit.

Those on probation might consider reviewing their release conditions paperwork to clarify who may conduct a search and under what circumstance(s).

If you are on probation, I thought only those overseeing your probation can ask to see your phone. What does the local LE officer for compliance check have to do with the right to look thru a phone?

First, this is not legal advice.

Second, unless there is a specific statute that forces those on the registry to allow warrantless access to private property, your 4th amendment civil rights would apply. I have read the FL statutes and have not found or heard of any statute with attempts to override this right. Of course, with how the registry is, you're at their mercy and if they want to find something or even make up something to put torture cuffs on you and throw you in a cage, they will. This doesn't only apply to folks on the registry, it's just that we are exceptionally easy targets.

The good news is, if your rights are violated, you can sue. The bad news is that it takes only an arrest to deny you removal from the registry when that time comes, and there is no exclusion for invalid arrests afaik.

Again, I am not an attorney and this is not legal advice.
