Little thought is given to the true nature of these crimes. The details are not lost…they are completely ignored.

My case was a sting. Regardless of the fact that I had no victim and had plenty of evidence to the contrary of my so-called intent… I was offered a plea deal of TEN YEARS in prison with TEN YEARS probation plus SO registration.

I was at the top of my career, had a family, a son, a great future. The thought of a “fair trial” was laughable. I plead to the bench and got lucky.

My definition of lucky? It was:

I lost everything; my career, my license to practice ever again in my field, my home where my son lives (within 1,000 ft of a park I can’t even see from my property), my life’s savings, my marriage, friends, and my future BUT I only did 8 1/2 months in county jail and have to register.

Lucky, right?

Now I face a whole new set of issues from increasingly restrictive registration requirements.
