That is truly amazing and idiotic indeed!! I have to say that Jacksonville (Duval County anyway), is very reasonable and actually an OK place for SO’s to live and I would suggest it as a place to come to for others in the same situation. I’ve had 2 probation officers so far and they have been fair and good to work with. Jax also does not have any of these crazy ordinances or “buffer zones” (yet–fingers crossed). Surrounding counties such as Nassau, St Johns, Clay, etc… do have crazy ordinances. My house is in Nassau Co and I can’t even live in my own house because they passed the 2500ft ordinance for everyone and it includes bus stops! There is one by my house, so there you go. But I’m glad I ended up in Duval Co. They have bigger fish to fry like gang violence and drug epidemics. Big drug bust just happened here (look at Jax news websites). Also I found a video on ones news website–it was an interview with a former gang leader who actually said they “targeted kids as young as 11 to recruit and get them to shoot other people.” The argument is that juveniles won’t get as severely punished as adults. Amazing. So again I ask, who are the REAL predators out there??? Gang leaders and drug dealers!!!!

It’s a parody – It’s meant to emulate the “super bowl shuffle” that the Chicago Bears did in 1988. It’s supposed to be funny, which it kinda’ is, but it’s very sad in the sense that it’s so true.

How crazy is what probation is doing up there? The irony is that to circumvent the 4 day residency requirement and in circulating registrants amongst 10 different houses, they are actually exposing who they claim are dangerous to TEN TIMES the number of “potential victims”. It’s truly idiotic! It’s like the proximity ordinances in Brevard and Seminole; they don’t let you shop in the Walmart by your house, but make you travel to the Walmart on the other side of town because that’s not in a “buffer zone”. Well as one registrant pointed out; to get to the Walmart by his house he passes nothing, but to travel to the one on the other side of town he needs to pass a dozen schools, parks, playgrounds, etc. that he would not have to pass if not for the ordinance.
