Interesting developments… I’ve always believed that laws that restrict civil liberties should never be permitted to stand when they are built on empty assertions, especially those that are repudiated by actual facts or evidence to the contrary. Hopefully SCOTUS is starting to wake up from their civil rights slumber and give back some liberty to people.

Regarding online age verification. I actually think this could be a good thing. One, it will hopefully keep children from lying about their age and getting into adult spaces they have no business being on, and keep adults from child centered spaces they have no business being on. Even more, after this takes effect, this should effectively shut down all future bogus bait and switch online “predator” stings, if not their legal justification for prosecuting people, at least. Seriously, if we can’t trust the age verification system to keep minors out of adult websites, then the whole system is a joke. Why law enforcement and “vigilantes” are going into adult-only spaces to catch “child predators” in the first place just shows how idiotic they are, but that’s a whole different matter. Maybe finally their fetish for cosplay will come to an appropriate end.

I don’t see why we keep screaming to “overturn Smith v. Doe.” I still think it would be more effective to argue that SvD is irrelevant or inapplicable because the simple fact is that all state congresses and assemblies have legislated out everything that led to the USSC’s conclusion.

FAC, Perhaps we could write a letter to Pete Buttigieg. I just read an article that someone falsely accused him of something and his twin 4 years were temporarily removed. Just goes to show you that we all are 1 false claim away from having our lives turned upside down and or turned upside down again. Source: AP News article from June 26th.

In reply to Glenn Foster. Because you were still on probation/supervision in 1997, when the registry was enacted. If you were free from all sanctions at that time, you should not have been on the registry.
