I have a question how long is the trial going to take? I live in another state, and the other state has me on their register because of Florida conviction. I am not interest in giving details
My convictions were in 1991. I got out in 2011; I am now arrest free for 15 years
They made these silly Draconia Laws in 1997 Had I know i would never accept a plea agreement basically this is a life sentence being on any registry even after I served time in Florida Doc

About two years or so ago (maybe longer) I asked that same question and F.A.C stated if they (Those who were named in the case) prevail, they would be removed, but each of us on the registry would have to still hire their own lawyer and see a judge using the case as precedence. And no guarantee the judge you see will remove you as it is at their discretion and not automatic.

Not my words but those of F.A.C when I inquired about the exact question you asked. And I appreciated them being honest because before I asked it, it appeared we all assumed we would all be automatically removed, which is not the case. (Sad face)

Cherokee, I agree with you, if someone wants to prey on someone, the registry will not stop them. The registry gives a false sense of security. My opinion, it will most likely be someone that is not on the registry. When I was growing up, riding my bike all over or at the park, I had to be home by dark. You cannot let your children do that anymore. I see young kids walking around the neighborhood in the evening and I wonder where are the parents? Parents need to be more cautious and proactive as to where and what their children are doing. Not just depend on the registry. Oh and Welcome back!
