Excerpt:
“Increasingly, many law enforcement officials and attorneys argue that this is what society essentially asked for: Because most states and communities have imposed such strict limits on where released sex offenders can live (while still requiring them to live in the town where they committed their offense), often an offender’s only legal choice is to live on the margins of towns, often in “clusters” in apartments or motels at highway interchanges — where, ironically, they may be in closer contact than ever to families and children.”
I get offended When they use the term unintended consequences. Those morons know exactly what they’re doing and it is most certainly intentional. So don’t sit there and use that term like it’s an accident that this happened and the politicians didn’t know that it would. They won’t be happy until they see every last one of us in prison for life or dead on the side of the road.
I agree 100%
You are right, people like the Books are vengeful hate-filled individual who derive pleasure from deliberately assisting the abuse (and in some cases death) of America citizens.
They have never met these people and yet they are fine with destroying their lives as petty revenge. Well guess what Books – you are more guilty that the one who abused your daughter. No one on the registry abused her – it was someone YOU KNEW and it happened on YOUR WATCH!
Blame yourself sir as YOU are the only one to blame.
You can intentionally cause the suffering of countless others but it only makes YOU a monster. You are responsible for their suffering and you willingly do it lying all the while. You sicken me and other true Americans who you most certainly do NOT represent!
Your lies are exposed at SexOffenderTruth.com and your true motives are sicker than any so-called “sex offender” as they are vengeful and driven by hate!
Exactly what the framers of the Constitution was seeking to prevent
No, that is not true. These consequences are unintended as the people who passed and were charged with enforcing these laws did not intend for sex offenders to be clustered on the outskirts of town. They fully expected them to be incarcerated or, preferably dead.
You’re looking at it all wrong MJ. It’s the unintended consequences that will eventually help people. Once there is enough data showing no resolution will satisfy the desired outcome that’s when we can get a foothold for change. Look at California right now. Those guys are making big moves and it will spread like one of their famous wildfires.
Looks like these hotels/motels will be going out of business. Way to go nit wit law makers,,,,,,,,,,
Going to Florida over 4 DAYS IS ONE OF THE WORLDS WORST GAMBLES! IGNORANCE OF LAW DOES NOT PROTECT YOU! What happens Plane problem accident travel issue car problem “you could be in jail” Under Their current law if anyone’s going to stay “5” days total in minimum 12?months!? You have to report to the state police within 48 hours of arriving & report! IF YOU HAVE BEEN LUCKY BEFORE GREAT!! But if you are caught you will be violated & now Can be arrested & CHARGED WITH A FELONY, fined & jailed! That also means that will put you on the FLORIDA Sex-offender list till 1 year after you died “as long as a family member applied for you to be taken off if not name-picture- & home address stays on the list forever “! You could THEN also possibly be (violated in your home state again and start the process of parole, sex offender classes; reposting you on your states sex offender list brand new, along with counseling, maybe half way housing, and other issues in your home state!Once you go on their Florida sex offender list you’ll never be taken off Till “1 “ year after you died & Family member requested for you to be removed! Your tickets in and out of the place, your receipts for gas stations; food & hotels or housing prove how long you have stayed at a place! To determine what will definitely trigger the problem is an emergency situation, going to the hospital, an accident of any kind, a traffic ticket plus your airline & train tickets have an in and out time! All of your criminal information about who you are can be found on that ticket. Anytime you used a state drivers license, state ID, or passport your criminal background and past can be found out!God forbid if a child is attacked or taken in the area you are vacationing!Florida is talking about using the sex offenders limitations of reporting against ALL people convicted of Drugs, Murder and even theft issues! If every person that has ever been convicted of a sex offense or any other crime gets together and decides not to take their family to Florida till they change requirements! NEVER to have A vacation in Florida & other states with these ridiculous requirements! Never go to Disneyland, not to go fishing, not to go boating and everything else that Florida offers! I guarantee you they will repeal the restrictions. It’s all about the money and perceptions! If everyone stops going there the state cannot exist! We all know that people who have been convicted of a sex offense crime, if they haven’t done anything in 10 years they are less than 5% chance of ever doing any other crime, if they haven’t done anything in 20 years or more there less than 1% chance of breaking ANY Laws!
not entirely accurate – within 48 hours of establishing the residence. It does not say within 48 hours of arriving.
Effective July 1, 2018, it will be 3 days not 5.
NARSOL should issue a nationwide bulletin:
STAY AWAY FROM FLORIDA AT ALL COSTS!
