Hello was your sentence longer than a year and did you mark yes on the embankment paper stating you have a crime in another country?

Hello I was curious how your travels went. Could you give us some updates on the countries you went to and obstacles you faced? I have a trip planned to Japan in April.

I have been looking into this. It appears it is 10 years from the end of sanctions for anyone who is not a predator or whatever they call it up there. If you are classified as a level one offender by them, you can petition and anytime after sanctions are finished. For a level two offenders and I think this would be probably applied to most people even those who are level one, it’s 10 years after sanctions with the attendant other requirements like no weapon and what have you. The state of Georgia has re-structured their statutes pertaining to when and how an RSO can petition to be legally removed from the registry, it was ,I believe, after 5 years of post-incarceration with no interaction of any kind with law enforcement, and now, i believe if correct, it is 10 years of such, before a RSO may petition to be removed..
If this information is correct, what are the recommendations to and for a RSO to consider, in order to assure an successful petition…
Thank you, FYI, it has been since1996 since offense,1997 since conviction, and 2014 since max-out without any post incaration probation/parole or restrictions,other than annual re-registration…paid for my crime, re-established myself with family and victim, and am happily married and successful in my field of endeavor.
Just want.to be able to live without the stigma of something that was so long ago,distasteful and wrong, for which i have paid in full.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

I’ve been an RSO since 1996. Been on every major cruise line. No problems till May 2016 going on royal Caribbean for 7 days to eastern Caribbean. The security office of royal Caribbean contacted me and required “more information” before allowing me to sail. I provided additional details and was permitted to go. I had been on royal Caribbean before with no questions prior to 2016. Since IML has passed haven’t been out of the country. Going to Cayman islands this weekend and Europe in December. Been to Europe several times with the last being summer 2017 and no issues. Prior to IML going into effect. I’ve even been to Canada. An ex girlfriend was French Canadian. Flew to Quebec for a family funeral. Was there a week. No issues going in or leaving. Always issues coming back thru US customs. Always escorted to screening and questioned where, what, why then free to go.

Omg…. from the decision looks like theyve classified the Online registration as punitive :”Thus, we conclude that the effect of the dissemination via the Internet of the sex offender’s registration information weighs in favor of finding that Section 9799.63 is punitive.”
And as punitive is subject to ex post facto as it related to a pre sorna case.
