(Members of the Lake Geneva City Council have repealed an ordinance which prohibits registered sex offenders from living within 2,000 feet of a child safety zone, which includes playgrounds, public parks, schools, public libraries, aquatic centers and athletic fields for children. The ordinance was repealed because it is considered unconstitutional by federal law.)

This sounds sooo familiar (FloriDUH)! Does anyone know where to find the language in the constitution that makes the residency restriction unconstitutional?

There are about 30 states that have residency restrictions. Plenty of options available to move to if you are desperate to get out of Florida. WA and OR seem to be the best places with least restrictions and logical thinking regarding SOR…

PS. there is no more recidivism in these states than the ones with restrictions, so how do residency restrictions solve anything?
