A win in the 11th Circuit today!  Miami-Dade is infamous for encampments of homeless registrants, permanent housing very scarce because of residency restrictions.  Despite national media attention to bad laws that had people living under the Julia Tuttle Causeway–courts haven’t been much help.  Now there’s an interesting development.  A lawsuit in federal court challenging those residency restrictions had been dismissed.

The order just came in from the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and the news is great! The federal appellate court reversed the lower court that dismissed our Sex Offender Residency Restriction challenge. The ACLU filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Florida Action Committee and several John Does who were put into homelessness because of the Sex Offender Residency

A hearing on our motion for a temporary injunction to the Internet Identifier restrictions of the Florida Registry took place at 10:00 AM this morning.
