Man Who Scammed Registrants Caught
A Georgia man has been arrested for scamming persons forced to register as sex offenders.
This individual reportedly contacted registrants, falsely claiming to be a law enforcement officer, and demanded money under threats of arrest for supposed non-compliance with registration requirements.
Many members of the Florida Action Committee (FAC) have fallen victim to similar scams, and while we are relieved to see this perpetrator apprehended, we remain concerned that he may receive a lenient sentence. It’s imperative that justice is served to deter other scammers.
Here is the docket sheet in case you want to stay on top of the case or write to the court to let them know how serious this crime actually is.

Stick him in the SO wing/block so he can learn from his mistakes.
Something not mentioned by anyone here but was in the news story– this POs is currently incarcerated in prison in Georgia and has been since 2014. He’s been running this scam FROM PRISON. No joke. His record includes racketeering, aggravated assault, and weapons charges.
You can find his name in the Georgia DOC inmate search.
That was a prior case. He’s incarcerated in PA. Same guy though. A scammer.
I was on parole at the time after serving 25 years of incarceration including 20 years of a “Treatment Center” hold so I was always in fear of falling on the wrong side of violating parole or messing up some registry regulations. The scammer got me for $2000.00 playing on that fear. I did report it to the police but that was just a waste of time.
They will drop it. I took a public bashing in 2005 an they did nothing but laugh. The guy was screaming in front of my house for over 15 minutes calling me a baby rapist child molester an 10 different other things trying to get me to come out an fight him. I had it on video an they did nothing. 3 days later my tires were slashed. I was told by Sgt. Booth, “If you don’t like it MOVE!” Now FDLE is trying to say I didn’t establish residency in Florida until 2006. Why, to cover it up? What I’ve been trying to explain, they are trying to cover ALL of this up because it’s gonna rock their foundations because of who I am. What is the average time they do their check on us? Monthly? I was avg. say every 45 days they would show up for the last 20 years. Since October 5th 2023 it had been 2 times because they know she royally screwed up.
Holy smokes. That is FUBAR
When I was living in Illinois, the state where I was convicted, a neighbor walked up to me and threatened to shoot me if I ever set foot on or near his property. I reported it to the local police and they also said “if you dont like it, move”. I did move at the end of my lease. Got the hell out of that damn state. But I’ve been threatened and had property damaged in every state I’ve lived in since. Have also been on the receiving end of this scam every place I’ve lived. Now I just laugh when they call.
place him on the registry.seems fitting karma
I got one of those calls a good while back when this thing was relatively new. I didn’t fall for it for a minute. I cussed out the scammer and dared him to do anything. I reported everything and provided evidence to my local sheriff’s department but they did nothing.
