IL: Suit settled in teen suicide that led to law change
The case of a suburban Chicago teenager, Corey Walgren, who killed himself in 2017, three hours after a dean and in-school police officer at Naperville High School told the honor-roll student he might face child pornography charges and being placed on the sex offender registry after he was alleged to have made a video of himself having sex with a classmate.
The case was settled for $125,000, but more importantly it prompted a change in Illinois law that requires an adult (such as the child’s parent) be present when a child is being questioned.
The case also shows how devastating the stigma of being registered is.

The registry seems to be made to bloat it with every sexual being possible? To what end? Until every American is on it? Americans will wake up eventually that we have all been had with this giant hoax of an unconstitutional act. It’s just a matter of when. I mean, shouldn’t everybody know somebody who is on the registry by now? And if so, how many families are part of the collateral damage? I mean, piss off the majority of Americans and then what? Keep bloating the registry and it’s pointless.
I can’t remember where I read it or saw it. There was this woman who wanted the registry for everyone else but her son. These lawmakers who going to remove the statute of limitations of sexual battery (I wish no one was on it regardless of what they did) I wonder how many lawmakers will wind up being false accused of something they did or alleging did when they were younger.-Perhaps Karma ….. just a thought there!!!
I watch the news some people accused coaches of sexual touching kids what 30 plus years ago. I know of one guy who was a swim coach and beat his case I spoke with him a few times and he is one of the few people I would trust by kids with(if I had any) He is a little goofy but the act of which he was charge for I can’t see him doing it. Unless America(Liberty) wakes up and defend the Consititution She will eventually wear a blindfold like Lady Justice and have her scales leaning to one side only!
I wonder if the people who should be following the fac’s work and what there trying to accomplish after all these years. If not that’s is a very sad thought. But if the right people are following then I hope to God they are listening with some compassion and to hopefully make some changes to the registry once and for all, and for all the right reasons. It is cruel and unusual treatment!. It is all there in black and white!. In plane words!!!. From the beginning from when the registry became so called “law”!. All that has been studied, challenged, disputed, And all of the negative effects including people dying either from someone killing them, or taking there own lives. The registry has done nothing but all the wrong things. “EXCEPT” for all of the possitive pleading from the Leaders Florida Action Committee and the registrants them self’s!!. The time has come disassemble the SO Registry.. There is no reason not to!. But there is thousands of reason to do so!!!.
The government pays out with tax payers money 120,000 to take a child’s life ..Protecting the children you say? Change an illegal law? Better idea , remove of the unconstitutional law that is the registry! Anything short of that is nothing. Just more blood on the hands of the worst criminal escapade on earth right now.. America must be so proud of itself. It found its new witch burning plan and has the world following..
