‘Miya’s Law’ heading to Governor’s desk

The Senate Friday took up and unanimously passed Sen. Linda Stewart’s “Miya’s Law” (SB 898) for the second time, this time with a late amendment message from the House that calls for a ban of rent-by-the-hour hotel and motel rooms.

“Miya’s Law” would require apartment owners to conduct criminal background checks on employees who could enter apartments.

    Truth

Adam Walsh’s case has nothing to with sex as his head was found and I don’t know how you can if a head engaged in sex recently.

Megan Kanka I don’t know much about her case.

Jacob was taken from his bike and nobody knew if he was alive or dead till recently, so from 1989 to a few years ago what did his case have to do with sex.

Just because horrible crimes occur doesn’t mean pass blanket laws on people who had nothing to do with it just to feel good. Laws shouldn’t be passed on feelings especially with irrational logic. How are any them honoring the person they are named after?

Can someone name one single law named after a crime victim that either a) would have prevented the crime that inspired it had it been in effect at the time or b) will prevent a repeat of the same circumstance?

I bet this bill will be rewritten in the future causing more of a slippery slope and overreach. Just because something sounds good in theory doesn’t mean it will be great in reality. Another useless bill to make fun of Florida.

If that includes contractors ie plumbers, handyman and etc. with are self-employed independent contractors that will prove quite an over reach.

Another named law, so no surprise no one gave it any thought before blindly voting on it.

Derek…I do Not Know Miya-Never Met That Person…I never Met Adam Walsh; However, I did meet His Evil Father-That is A Whole Other Story; I never Met the Megan in Megan’s Law; Never Met Jacob W…….Etc…

So, What Do They Have to do with Persons Forced To Register…I never Met Them; What Ever Happened to Them, Oh Well-That is not my Business, Now They are OUR BUSINESS,,,

      The PENDULUM OF HYPOCRISY!
