UK: New drama examines impacts of sexual offense on family trying to move on.

A new drama due to air on BBC Two and iPlayer this week examines the extensive ripple effect of abuse from multiple perspectives and how those involved can try to move forwards in the midst of the devastation.

“Unforgivable” features the Mitchell family and how they deal with the devastating aftermath of an act of sexual abuse committed by a member of their own family who, after two years, is about to leave prison.

We know little about it, but it might be an interesting watch.

This sounds like from the victim perspective as it is written, but hopefully maybe they will be looking at it from the perp’s perspective and the ripple effects on all that brings as well.

Why would anyone in their right frame of mind want to be associated with a family who commits heinous acts like this?

      Mr. DA
      Maybe it’s not about that.

It is a drama, meaning fictional story. There probably will be those who can relate to the story from both sides.

I don’t believe that the family committed any heinous acts. It is likely only a single member, but there are collateral effects on the entire family. Why would anyone in their right frame of mind generalize an act to the entire family? Also, whatever happened to allowing a person to move on after paying his/her debt to society?
