NC lawmaker hit with child sex charges, calls grow for immediate resignation

A lawmaker in North Carolina is behind bars this week after being charged with felonies tied to alleged sexual conduct with a minor.

State Rep. Cecil Brockman, who represents Guilford County, is facing two counts of statutory rape of a child between the ages of 13 and 15 and two counts of indecent liberties with a child, according to court records obtained by Fox News Digital. The 41-year-old legislator is being held without bond at the High Point Detention Center and is expected to make a court appearance on Thursday. Jail records on Wednesday confirmed he remains in custody at the Guilford County facility.

The magistrate’s order says Brockman is accused of engaging in sex acts with a 15-year-old in August and is twice alleged to have committed and attempted to commit “a lewd and lascivious act” upon the juvenile, the Associated Press reported.

According to another news report, Brockman suffered a “medical emergency” on Thursday ahead of his court appearance in Guilford County for alleged child sex crimes, court officials said. He is now scheduled for court on Friday.

    Hi Bill. I’d like to see any case you can present where the registry prevented a crime as is that stated purpose by all too many politicians. Point us to just one single case anywhere in the USA. If you can’t, then stop trolling us.

    Is it real or were the minors coerced to accuse him of this? Just asking because we simply don’t know which ones are real and which ones are not. It’s very easy for our government to create fake cases of this, as we’ve seen our government do over and over again.

    If those minors are true victims of his, I hope justice is served. If this is just another law enforcement created crime, I hope justice is served.

      He should have been on the sex offender registry before he was caught?

        Politicians say that the registry protects the public from and harm and prevents crime so when a sex offense occurs and it is not a registrant we say “The Registry Failed again.”

          Oh. Now I get it. The registry protects the public only from convicted sex offenders.

            Prove it.

            95%+ never have a second offense when you know the true numbers.

            Our son, who is on the autism spectrum, went through a lengthy evaluation and assessment process from the psychology group that was court-ordered to provide two years of therapy during his last two years of probation.

            The primary psychologist testified in court that our son is in no way any danger to anyone. Photos were sent to his computer that he immediately deleted, but his ISP was being randomly monitored. He’s never done anything to anyone and has no inclination to do so.

            He was damaged by government ordained injections when he was two years old. Life changed after that, but we didn’t understand it because autism was not a thing in 1985. All we knew is that our quiet, observant, eager to learn little guy went through a week of severe pain after the shots and became anxious, frustrated and a difficult little boy. His social skills that were advancing rapidly suddenly came to a halt. And now the government continues to terrorize him with forced tyranny. I won’t go into the hell it has brought our family, but outsiders need to know it isn’t just those forced to register that are suffering this horrific punishment. And people sure don’t understand how their judgment and condemnation of people forced to register, and anyone else, comes back on them even worse.

        @Bill

        There has not been a documented case to our knowledge where the registry has prevented a crime. If it has, it isn’t documented because no one has owned up to it (who would do that?). LE needs to prove the negative by showing stats that the registry allegedly did its job of allegedly prevent a crime after coming into effect and while they are at it, show the stats of crimes being prevented by being a crime before it came into effect. Is there a difference? Show the efficacy of the thing other than spending monies on it for job security.
