Will someone please correct Jacksonville’s First Coast News?
As a follow-up to our post from earlier today, which can be seen here: https://floridaactioncommittee.org/will-someone-please-correct-wftv9-orlando/
Jacksonville’s First Coast News has put up a scare story.
Please help educate First Coast News by encouraging them not to perpetuate unfounded fear and actually write something to improve public safety?
This story has a place for comments.
I thought if you were off of Probation there are no restrictions for SO’s on this day.
It depends on the County and City in which you live.
If you live in Jacksonville, there is a city ordinance, which covers all of Duval County, I believe:
https://library.municode.com/fl/jacksonville/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=TITXIXPUSA_CH685SEOFSEPRRE
Sec. 685.104. – Prohibited Activities for Sexual Offenders and Sexual Predators; Exceptions.
This “law” was first enacted in 2010, and has been “updated,” (read: tightening the screws), in 2015 and 2016. Since it is retroactive to the beginning of time, it is unconstitutional on its face.
Peoples want for apporpriate discrimination
First Coast News plagiarized the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office news release, word for word:

They cannot be corrected as long as the “good people” of Jacksonville keep electing backward regressives to the office. Also, to make comments on their website, just like 80% of all websites, you have to have a Facebook account.
