Actor cut from film after studio learns of past
Twentieth Century Fox has removed a scene from its upcoming film The Predator after discovering that one of the actors is listed on the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry.
The offense took place more than fifteen years ago. I guess we can add actor to the long list of jobs persons forced to register will be excluded from.

Mike Tyson, perhaps the most well-known registered sex offender in the world, has appeared in the following 20th Century Fox Films: The Hangover, The Hangover Part 2, Rocky Balboa, Ip Man, Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles, Scary Move 5, and Grudge Match.
None of his scenes have been deleted or edited out.
Why?
Seems as though 20th Century Fox has a double standard when it comes to making money… no surprise.
Because the notoriety/fame of Mike Tyson brings in more money than the purported scandal. The problem lies in the studio’s squishy explanation – -hypocritically claiming the moral high-ground while not sacrificing one penny of revenue.
The registry was created to dominate a person for life….pure and simple! How come murderers are not on a registry or bank robbers or politicians who are convicted of any crime. We the People need to know?
Willie
Supposedly in Florida there is a Murderer registry but I think it for Law enforcement purposes only and not made public. And they do not have to do all the things we have to do, jumping through hoops just to keep from going back to prison on a daily basis.
I feel this person should’ve been on the registry for 3 years under the probationary period and after that should be removed from the registry at that time. But here’s the rub, a person’s criminal record could still ruin them if a background check is performed or if others who know him out him anyway. So technically he’s already on a Criminal Registry for LIFE. So, what does it matter if a registry exists or not, Hmmmmm!
@D.A
There is a HUGE difference. I do not mind having a criminal record, I deserved it. But the difference is, with the registry, we have to register at the sheriffs office in person either 2 times a year or 4 times a year depending on your charges.
Neighbors are notified, we have our photos blasted all over the registry pages, we cannot travel without permission, we cannot (most of the time) leave the U.S for vacation, we cannot visit our kids or grandkids to pick them up at school (We are banned from setting foot on a school or a day care, even if it is our OWN child.
I have had my house set on fire, feces thrown on my porch, my vehicle scratched and vandalized, my house broken into, nasty notes left at my door, neighbors harassing me. If we visit hotel with our family, we have to give notification to law enforcement. We have been banned from several airlines from flying and a list so long of other things no other “Ex-felons” in the U.S are banned from.
For those lucky to get off the registry, all that goes away, other than still having a criminal record that never goes away. And one last note, there are tons of people on the Florida registry site, people who have long since died. Just go on the Florida registry and look up deceased registrants. I spent almost an hour looking through that and after an hour there were still 100s and 100s of them.
WHAT WAS YOUR CRIME
I had a consensual encounter (No such thing under the law) meaning the person wanted to be with me. I knew better but fell for it. Nobody’s fault but my own. No time machines so have to live with the consequences until a judge says otherwise. I have been off probation now for 21 years.
Charges were from 1991. I was in my 20s when it happened. No intercourse just messing around, kissing, making out, feeling up etc. but still considered a crime because they were under 18.
My victim is not who told on me, but a friend of my victim did. 34 years ago with not a single crime before or after that. Some punishments, such as the registry, is for life unless a judge feels you are not a threat.
Brother, as a fellow believer, I want to encourage you with these words:
“All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. ” 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10
God sees everything, and if we follow Jesus and entrust ourselves to him, we will be vindicated in the end. Sometimes, we will see God deliver and fight for us in this life. I have seen God remove people from my life that meant me harm, so I can testify to this. Other times, justice will come at Jesus’ return. Either way, we can rest in His love, protection, and provision until then. Don’t give up!
@Concerned
Thank you brother. I have been saved since I was a young boy. I appreciate your love and caring for others, including me. We all need to encourage each other.
Oh and one more thing, if you end up in the hospital, you have to register that as well. From experience, I would now rather die that go back into the hospital. Once they found out I was a registered citizen, all care stopped. The only person I ever saw was an orderly who brought me the worst lunch I had ever seen.
Then they made up a story that my insurance was not paying for my stay, so I had to leave. My family was out of town, so the hospital had to provide me with a ride home. The only person worried about my health was the driver who almost didn’t let me in because he thought I might die on the way home and he was nearly right.
Any future hospital trips I have told my parents just let me die. And guess what, the insurance not only paid, but the hospital lied and said I stayed there for 6 days. I disputed that with the insurance and that made it worse because then I got a bill from the hospital stating insurance didn’t pay, because they lied. My family ended up hiring a lawyer, and yes, I won.
We have never informed hospitals of our registration status. If the hospital is in the state in which you are registered, why would you need to inform them. Is that the law in Florida?

I was told by my registration office if you go to the hospital for more than a day, you have to notify the sheriff’s office so they can notify the staff that a sex offender is in the facility. Would also make a difference if you are in the room with someone else.
They keep updating things so often than I would be afraid to stay somewhere more than 24 hours. If it was just an outpatient surgery, I do not think you have to register. I was there several days until I left on my own with the driver after they treated me so nasty. They even have sex offender in my chart to every single doctor I see that can access that chart finds out and you can tell they saw it by how I am treated. Their entire countenance changes.
There is no such law. If you stay in the hospital three or more days it becomes a residence and requires registration
They are a bunch of hypocrites. As if Hollywood isn’t full of predators. Do as I say and not as I do.
Ironic the name of the movie was “The predator”. You just cannot make that stuff up.
My thoughts he should have known better. I learned the hard way that being in the limelight just gives you grief when on the registry. I have people all the time ask me to volunteer to help in different events, churches etc, but always decline without giving them a reason.
Just takes one person to recognize you and run to the news saying “OMG such and such is on the sex offender registry and now they are around people they shouldn’t be”. I get asked all the time to volunteer for so many things and I want to but know the consequences.
My thoughts exactly!
