After unanimous support, Lauren Book mysteriously pulls her own bill.
Lauren Book pulled one of her own bills at the last minute (no, it is not the horrible SB1226), an action that mystified other legislators and victims who were pushing for it’s passage.
The bill would have allowed survivors to sue businesses that willingly and knowingly turn a blind eye to trafficking. For that illicit industry, that mostly meant motels and hotels, where the trafficking often happens.
She claimed she pulled the bill because she didn’t want to waste the Senate Committee’s time on it, because the House was not going to pass the companion bill. In actuality, the committee had plenty of time left during their meeting and members of the House insisted it was going to pass.
Could it be that her dad, Ron Book, represents Property Casualty Insurer’s Association of America that writes 35% of the commercial property and liability market???? HMMMM… how would Ron Book’s clients feel if Lauren Book would have pushed through a bill that could have imposed liability on them, where she had the power to kill it at the last minute?
Politicians ONLY take care of themselves or their own.
Sounds kind of suspicious, hmmm. However I believe there should be an in-depth look at all of the business’ of Ron Book, and non profits he and his family are involved in.
What a fantastic idea! Make Politicians Honest Again.
The ‘swamp’ is not only in DC. It can be found right in Tallahassee.
Lol…I love when FAC gives such detailed facts on the CROOKS!! FAC ARE KNOW IT ALLS!!!!!!! and I love it!!!!

Sure sounds accurate to me. What other reason could there be? A super debacle, how could that have not been thought through sooner? Wow!
