Britain considering chemical castration for sex offenders under prison reforms

Britain is considering mandating the use of chemical castration for sex offenders under an overhaul of the justice system aimed at freeing up more space in its overcrowded prisons.

One of the first acts of the Labour government in July was to announce plans to release more prisoners early to tackle a crisis of overcrowding in jails which ministers said threatened a “total breakdown of law and order.”

Announcing the findings of a review into how to tackle the crisis, justice minister Shabana Mahmood said it had recommended continuing a pilot of so-called “medication to manage problematic sexual arousal.”
“I am exploring whether mandating the approach is possible,” she told lawmakers.

Options include pharmaceuticals that suppress libido and those that reduce sexual thoughts, the review said.

I am an older man, I have no kids, I’m not married anymore but have a great female companion. I’ve been convicted of a sex crime that has no victims. I have always claimed my innocence, but no one will listen. In Florida and across the US, you are automatically guilty and they won’t let you prove your innocence. I’m on sex offender probation, which is absolutely horrible and I am on Florida’s sex offender registry for the rest of my life. I receive a retirement from the military, I own my own home, I take care of my elderly mother, I have a job and also do handyman jobs. I even enjoy fishing. I have a good clean wholesome life. However, I’m constantly under state scrutiny and not truly free.
With all that said, I think that taking meds to suppress sexual urges is an idea to consider. However, it should be made an option rather than a mandate. If the government agrees to drop all charges, take me off probation and remove me from the registry, then I would seriously consider it. My life situation doesn’t require sex. I get more satisfaction in living a good life and being a good person

I may be mistaken, but from what I have learned during sex offender required therapy, a lot of sexual abuse is about “control”, not any kind of “sexual urges”. I can’t speak for true pedophiles, as most of us like myself are not that type. We don’t “get off’ on kids, we just ended up in a stupid situation we did not know how to get out of.

If the control thing is true, even physical castration would not deter a control freak from trying to satisfy their psychological urge to control of another human being no matter what. This is a political public idea to remove attention from the politicians pushing the narrative who have skeletons in their closets they really hope do not come out.

Yes! Great great! Hope they bring this to Florida where there’s an obvious sex offender problem. We don’t have this stuff back home in Ethiopia. Very unholy!

Most people I talk to would, given the choice, feel more comfortable raising their children in Florida than in Ethiopia.

That’s because they view Florida as having less child trafficking, fewer child brides, fewer child soldiers, and less genital mutilation than Ethiopia.

In fact, Florida has no sex offender problem that is not experienced by other states. It just relies too much on registration and notification. Those have not resulted in extra safety.

      You kidding me?

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_in_Ethiopia

Rape in Ethiopia is highly prevalent, despite the case is still underreported due to fear, and shame of violence, especially in women. There are variety factors that contribute rape, and is controversial topic. Major factors that cause rape include societal norms encompassing masculinity, gender inequality, anger, sadism of the rapists as well as poverty. The Ethiopian society generally tolerated such violence and defend the value. They thought that women would tend to follow Westernized culture, even this notion is supported by educated people. There are also abduction, child marriage, and sex works in urban areas.

When I was in High School partying with my friends in the 1970s, we’d get drink beer and stoned and watch Monte Python which was the ONLY TV show in the United States that ever showed boobs. Then later Benny Hill, maybe even the hilarious guy with the hump in Young Frankenstein showed boobs in his TV show (not sure about that show).

We were not perverts, we loved the humor and the freedom that we believed the Brits had to celebrate the beauty and fun of our bodies that our Puritan country (Nixon – USA) clung onto.

We were underage having sex with our underage girlfriends who like us had hella fun partying and getting naked having sex with us. We thought it was normal, and fun. It was human, and natural.

Two of our HS teachers who were also sports coaches in our school were busted having sex with a couple of our cheerleaders at a graduation party (1977). They got fired, but are not on the RSO list that so many of us are on for doing way less.

What happened? Did the War on Drugs lose interest, and free sex became the new big crime?

Agenda 2030 is now on steroids. They’re hellbent to take us further into darker ages. The sleepers had better wake up VERY soon because we’re all in their sights for this absolutely barbaric tyrannical backwards herding of the sheep. Eventually, the plan is to come for everyone till dissenters are dead and the remaining are under full CONtroll. It’s written on their agenda.

Only ALL of us united can stop this so SPEAK UP FOR YOUR FELLOW HUMANS IN EUROPE. That’s where the testing ground is to see how far we will let them go. Britain has a historical reputation for brutality and forcing their will on the world. America has never been free of them, they just rearranged the script and got more devious and secretive with their infiltration. They are truly lost souls.

Lawmakers like these presume that only men can be sex offenders. Meanwhile, many women are arrested/convicted every year in the USA and UK for sex crimes, particularly against children.

In my case, my wife who was severely mentally ill, who I felt very sorry for (Jesus Complex), sexually abused her daughter from the time she was born. She was three when I met them (1988) and I did not know for a while until I walked in on them one night when my wife was humping that poor girl about to have an orgasm. I yelled, “STOP THAT!” When I discovered what was happening, my choice was to call the cops which I knew would separate them forever, or in my mind, I would try to make it stop. I was very unsuccessful on making it go away and my wife made allegations about me to cops some years later when she was upset at me when she was in a psychotic episode on meth behind my back when I had tickets to a Grateful Dead show and she was not welcome by my friends who were terrified of her. The DA said, “Even if the mother is the perpetrator, if the Father knows, he will be prosecuted because a jury will never convict a woman.” I did five years in prison, and while in Sex Offender Therapy on parole our counselor told us women sex offenders tend to do the most emotional and psychological harm as they are the humans children trust the most. Yet women teachers even today who have sex with their students (boys and girls) in their classrooms get laughs and people say, “Hot for Teacher” when they are very sick causing horrible harm to children. It was in the news ever today in Florida.

What a mess we have, and politicians who I suspect are all guilty of at least one sex crime in their lives stand on soap boxes making it worse for victims and offenders who have nowhere to turn for help, as was our case. We grew pot, so could never call the cops. UGH

Not for that and she was already missing early on in my nightmare. Last I did hear a few years later when a deputy served her divorce papers in a homeless shelter was that she was a drifter in and out of jail for little stuff, always homeless. Her daughter, I know nothing.

One of the crazy factors was that her amazing daughter beamed like sunshine, loved everybody, never shy. Every time I told my wife that she was hurting her very own daughter, later in the day someone would tell us what great parents we were because that little girl seemed so happy. My wife’s young daughter was her nurturer. Even at 5 she was the emotional support for her mother. She was in many ways stronger. Sexually she was born into that mother/daughter weirdness. I understood none of it. I just wanted to it to stop. It was hard for me to even leave them alone. But it was like I was the weird one by being afraid. Friends and customers knew I was uncomfortable with them being alone. But I never said a word to anybody what I knew. It was a terrifying time.

What a friggen’ nightmare that was. In therapy I learned that this kid became a “Super Kid.” That is kind of like a Miss America story when a sexually abused kid becomes Miss America, or more. It is something that happens. Weird. I am sure it is way more common than we know.
