    I sent all of them E-mails and contacted them via telephone and it took less than 15 mins. This is why things don’t change, if you don’t take the effort at least try to make change, nothing will ever happen. Just everyone PLEASE do it!

      I am a retired teacher and 79 years old I have sorrowfully a house in a subdivision with HOA Homeowner association. It seems they want to harass and discrimination me for example they wrote a letter to the court that 9 people are living in my house and they used my name for 3 people and other 3 people were those who rented the whole house many years ago from me. One time they told me that I can have one roommate to help me, because I am old, and my wife is not young too. Later they came to my house and inspect the house and I asked the roommate also should go. She went and only in my house are living my wife and me. I asked even to my family not to visit me, because HOA is against me, but as you see they harass and bother me and sent the page that 9 people are living in my house to the court, but because they have two ex0pensive attorney company the judge dismissed my case even the lie should be punishable by law, they said one day I should cut the trees which are 20 years old. I went to the municipality to ask if I can cut those trees which are over 20 years old. They said no you cannot cut healthy trees. I went to HOA for the situation what can I do. Instead of answering my question that the municipality is against cutting, they told me you are not welcome in the subdivision and the neighbors do not like you and in your house are living 9 people. I am just a retired teacher and have only 700 dollars per month as my salary so I cannot pay the attorneys to support me, and the judge wants attorney to handle the case. The HOA told also you are not from here and Iranian you must sell your house and go away, and they were very impolite to me. Is it my reward after 45 years to be teacher to handle like that? If you cannot pay attorneys, you have no rights and judge said attorney attorney when I wanted to explain my situation. They other and harass in any way they can, when day they say you should have jasmine instead of grass and the other day, they say I should have mulch between Jasmine and one day they say I should remove the mulch. I asked even the agent to sell my house because I see that no office is listening to me. I was persecuted in Iran, because of Christianity as I was also teacher in European and American schools. And here I have been persecuted because of my original nationality. What can I do. I also cut the trees and did whatever the HOA said, but that is not their goal they want to harass and bother me so much and make my life hell, because nobody support me or listen to my situation.

    Question :
    Isn’t this bill retroactively punishing us?
    Is this allowed?
    Can the F. A. C. present this to a judge, prior to it becoming a law?

      We can seek an injunction but FAC is not a law firm and we are not attorneys. We would need to raise money to hire an attorney to do that.

        If we were to get a legal injunction to hold up the passing of these bills, what would be the right reasons not to pass the bill. Besides not liking the bills any ideas on how legally we can stop this from becoming law?

    Would a person who is released from prison on a friday and can’t register until Monday be in violation of this law if it passes? Can”t imagine this could happen. Certainly they can’t count weekends if there is no time to report on the friday.

      No. See Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.040 and Florida Rule of Judicial Administration 2.514 (incorporated by reference into Fla. R. Crim. Pro. 3.040), the latter of which reads in pertinent part:

      (a) Computing Time. The following rules apply in computing time periods specified in any rule of procedure, local rule, court order, or statute that does not specify a method of computing time.

      (2) Period Stated in Hours. When the period is stated in hours

      (A) begin counting immediately on the occurrence of the event that triggers the period;
      (B) count every hour, including hours during intermediate Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays; and
      (C) if the period would end on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, or during any period of time extended through an order of the chief justice under Florida Rule of Judicial Administration 2.205(a)(2)(B)(iv), the period continues to run until the same time on the next day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday and does not fall within any period of time extended through an order of the chief justice.

    Yes it is a lot of work but I spent years telling my kids, “You won’t know until you try”. I emailed all individually last night and felt good that I at least tried! I will never stop trying to help my child! God Bless everyone that puts in so much of their time trying to make life a little easier for the registrants. With me it doesn’t go unnoticed!
