Canada Reluctant to Extradite US Sex Offenders.
In several cases, the Canadian Government has been reluctant to extradite individuals who flee persecution in the United States when facing punishment for sex offenses. It’s not that the Canadians are more tolerant of sex crimes, they are absolutely not! It’s that they are less tolerant of the draconian, often lifetime sanctions imposed on all those who are deemed “registered sex offenders”.
Last year, Canada blocked the extradition of a man because he could potentially face “civil commitment” which is tantamount to life in prison, a sentence far harsher than he could ever face in Canada and what Canadians would consider to be cruel and unusual punishment.
Last week, Canadian courts refused the extradition of a second man who was charged in the US for transmitting two pornographic videos containing bestiality and one video containing child pornography. Among other problems with the extradition paperwork, the court pointed out that it was never alleged that the the individual knew one of the videos contained child pornography. “The inference that he knew that one of the three videos was child pornography and that he knowingly distributed them is too great a leap and not a reasonable inference without anything more in the record of the case,” “The court cannot order extradition without evidence of knowledge which would justify committal for trial in Canada.”
Both the threshold for conviction in Canada (specifically, in this case, knowledge that the file contained something illegal) is higher and the punishment lower. With that in play, the more just and humane treatment of criminal defendants in Canada prevented them being turned over the the US.

If you are not a Canadian citizen, you likely won’t even be able to get into the country.
You can petition the Canadian Govt and explain the case to them that your ” so called conviction , had no victims.” Some countries look at the seriousness of the crime ” . You can try that as it does no harm . You may be surprised that they may allow you , to come to Canada . Id also tell them you want to work there and pay their taxes , I am sure they need a new Taxpayer . Get it ? Good Luck
, Canada will not let you in their country for any felony conviction that is, if you are already convicted of a felony. if you have Netflix check out border control enforcement there are 3 (US Canada , and Australia) there were a few that tried and were denied entrance

Why does US have a Secret Prison? Called Civil Commitment. Why are the men being held at Longer time? Why is the Senator/ Government/involved in this program that has no End? The people want to know,why is our Tax money being used in a program that has been no good since over 20 years. Meanwhile we are paying for therapist and a Ex officer to Run the Littlfield facility,and a Ex Warden to help run the facility that is not a prison and why are they far from all their families??? The Judges need to put a Stop on this is Unconstitutional! The men are people and a lot have completed their Time! WHAT are yall doing!The therapy people in Littlfield are just getting paid.These people have been doing this for like 20 years,yet nobody has completed the program. Judges need to Close this secret Prison,it is only Taking Money from us People! These men need to be evaluated and placed in Society,and not evaluated by Bias people like ex cops or ex DA or ex Warden. It needs to be Real People! A panel of people,not people like Judge Seiler. Look at Littlefield ,it’s just like a Prison called the therapy facility.
You know it! I can tell you that although innocent (never stated guilt and was non-adjudicated). I will see that 20 year mark in 2 LONG years from now!
I will most certainly dedicate the remainder of my life fighting this stupidity until I am successfully removed from the immoral and illegal HIT LIST in Florida or I die – whichever comes first!

At one time, the U.S. was the country that derided others for the harsh treatment of those accused or convicted of crimes. Our increasing prosecution of minors as if they were adults is a prime example. I read in USA Today a few years ago about a 15-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy who were caught having sex, and were both placed on the state’s sex offender registry for it. Our country is going backwards. Morality is not only about sexual behavior. Treating people like lepers the rest of their lives is also immoral.

It’s called hypocrisy. Why do you think thousands of young men (mostly poor) sought asylum in Canada to avoid the Vietnam War? I’m glad to see that Canada is still a little more sensible in their views on human rights than the so-called “land of the free.” America continues to lament other countries’ dismal civil rights records but fails to acknowledge its own. This hypocrisy is nothing new, but getting worse as it is now estimated that 1 in 3 adults in the US have an arrest record, just as many that have a four-year college degree:

They refuse entry for anyone that has a felony, they are not singling out rso’s.
What about those who don’t have a felony and just have a misdemeanor could a person visit or potentially move there??
Canada’s policy is to turn away US felons unless they have a special exception. It does not apply to misdemeanors. Just keep in mind that what might be a misdemeanor in one country might be a felony in the other, and vice versa. DUI in Canada is considered a felony.
Why is it that the bastion of liberty…United States…seems to be so far ‘behind the power curve’? We parade sex all over the countryside, use sex for entertainment and comedy yet we treat it as though it’s the end of the world when someone gets overly involved in sex. Most sex offenses are committed with no criminal intent. Our previous Secretary of State committed numerous crimes against this nation yet because she did so with no ‘illegal/criminal intent’ her ‘errors’ were overlooked. How screwed up is this country in handing out punishment when saying “Good morning” on a public sidewalk gets one 20 years of probation and making available national secrets gets one a platform from which to spew discontent!? Go figure!
Labeling someone a criminal without the due process of a trial is just as bad as labeling all registered sex offenders as dangerous predators who are just waiting for a chance to do it again.
Indeed, it is stereotyping and profiling. Clearly the USA is a very conservative and sexually repressed country. Even more clear is that hyper-sexual individuals enter politics , prime example is Bill Clinton.
These people pretend to have the perfect life but under the surface are ego maniac monsters. These are the ones who are making laws which punish people for the very things that they have a desire to do (or actually do). Think republicans who get caught sucking dick in men’s rooms and yet claim to be straight Christians with perfect marriages!

John, I have heard that the best way to get the ‘heat’ off of one’s self is to try to pass it on to someone else. We see that happening today both in the ‘justice system’ and the political world. It’s the principle of ‘thermodynamics’.
