FAC Letter to Gov. Rick Scott Regarding DADS Program

Next week, the State of Florida is encouraging Dads to become involved in their children’s education, by promoting a “take your Dad to work day”

A proclamation from Governor Scott touts all the benefits of having ones father or father figure involved in their upbringing.

Yet – a segment of Florida’s children (thousands, in fact) are not able to have their Dads participate in their schooling because of registration laws. FAC thought to remind Governor Scott of that.

Bravo. A perfectly rational line of reasoning. Unfortunately, I expect the letter will simply be ignored.

Well If you look at it from a “Sideways View” Gov. Rick Scott has over ridden his “,Laws” and “Given us the PERMISSION to enter schools with our Kids” !! The way I read the Flyer !! Is says “,ALL DADS, GRAND DADS, STEP DAD’S and so forth !!!. It doesn’t say “Except Sex Offenders” !! So maybe we “ALL” Should CHALLENGE THIS “PERMISSION” !!!!! ?????. If we go to school and a Cop is called, We show the flyer to them and say, “Gov. Rick Scott gave me Permission !!!. “Here it is in Writing” !!!!!!. Am I completely WRONG in thinking rhis way ???. Doesn’t my Grandchildren DESERVE me atleast TRYING !!????. He is ALWAYS wanting his “Papa Dan” to come to his school funtions !!!. He’s 10 and doesn’t understand why I never come !!!!. I feel so bad Everytime he asked me to come !!!. I never agreed to ANY of this in 2003 when I “Took a plea deal” !!!. And by “LAW” I shouldn’t have to “Follow any of these NEW laws” !!.

Scott is a typical politician. He only SAYS things that are good. When he DOES something, people suffer.

I’m sure he’s well compensated for his stance on SOs.

Good letter! We need to constantly remind our duplicitous politicians the consequences (collateral damage) of their cowardly actions.

Excellent letter, well timed. At every opportunity we must remind our government that it is their policies that frequently do more damage than good. It’s not right for the children of ex-sex offenders to have to suffer separation from their parents when it comes to their education and sports involvement. I cannot even help my daughter get her daughter to and from school. I get along quite well with both. I am starting a new series in my blog geezerpolitics.wordpress.com. The series is entitled “Politics and the Church…The Politics of God”. The politicians we have ‘serving’ many of us today are the results of our antipathy is screening our politicians and the principles they stand for. I have been writing “Politics and the Church” for nearly three years and point out the many ways that our government is an enemy to our society. I hope the governor will read your letter and take it to heart.
