Petition to Declare Public Sex Offender Registration in the United States a Violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)
Today, approximately one-million people in the United States are forced to register as “sex offenders”. The label leads to stigmatization, separation from society, loss of employment, loss of housing and even exposure to violence at the hands of vigilantes. The stigmatization extends to the spouses, children, family, friends, employer and anyone that associates with the registrant. The isolation, shame, stress, fear of violence, loss of income and other psychological effects are experienced by the entire household.
Great letter Gail. I don’t know if I would have used the word “stab”. A lot of people would love to have a “STAB”, at him. Just sayin’.
I watched the interview with Ron Book on line via your link. Ron Book’ body language alone was enough to portend his position. His interruptions were boorish and he clearly would not acknowledge empirical data regarding sex offenders. In a word, his demeanor was reprehensible.
Since I do not live in Florida and have no first hand knowledge of him, watching this man rant was very disturbing on so many levels. He has an obvious bias against former sex offenders, is vehemently opposed to their reintegration into society and clearly should be disqualified from any decisions regarding anything to do with former sex offenders. He would appear to be at best someone who has severe anger issues or who at worst is a charlatan. If ever there were a character he most embodies it would be a male version of Nurse Ratched in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”.
The person and motive of who ever appointed this man as a trustee in this area needs to be questioned. Their judgement is as flawed as Ron Book’s is prejudiced.
Too bad Bovo the clown and Pepe Le Pew Diaz will use this letter as TP, if they bother to read it at all.
I have an idea, how about we look into the cost for an ad campaign against the Miami-Dade Commission and the Homeless Trust? How much would print and/or online ads be?
online is just Google SEM
makes me wonder how much advertising on the city bus’s are lol
Gail, well said! After watching the Channel 4 debate it is quite obvious that Ron Book is in serious need of counselling and removal from any board designed to help the homeless…seven acceptable places to live to accommodate 250+ homeless? He must be smoking some of that medicinal stuff.
Captain, I think he needs to smoke some of that medical stuff. lol
Nicely Written Ms C but I wonder if they are enough commissioners that don’t have their hands in the Book’s pockets and have the courage to do what’s right. Btw Bovo must be the first to go
Great letter Gail! Thank you for all you do on our behalf. May the Lord God of Hosts deliver all your enemies into your hand in disgrace.
Here’s someone who would no doubt agree with you.
